Everyone talks about what a crappy arm he has but look what type of arm he is replacing. The yanks did pretty well with Bernie and his fairly weak arm. Hopefully they'll get more runs out of JD then he gives up.

Bernie throws righty. That means he doesn't have to turn and set his body when he fields a ball in left center, which is the biggest part of Yankee Stadium. Damon, as a lefty, can't get as quick a release when he's going to his right
