Words Of Wisdom From someone who Knows!

While he may not be a member of this site , Jim White is in the technology age and reads what goes on Often...He just sent me this email and told me to post it...It speaks for itself..

"Billy:

I've been on the bay since I've been 5-years old with my father and grandfather. I've fished commercially with a rod and reel, run lobster pots, dug clams and quhougs and run a full time charter business for 18-years I've also mated for some of the best captains in Pt Judith and Snug Harbor. I remember when cod and pollock could be caught in the bay, let alone, striped bass.
In all that time I've seen many come and many more go. There is always someone who wants to be the first on the block for doing something when it comes to fishing. Someone discovered the perfect spot, the perfect bait, the perfect lure, the perfect techniuque and on and on. Time measured in hours and minutes has a different meaning than when I went to school. It used to take 365 days to make a year, and 10-years to make a decade. In today's world, you fish for five or six years, and that's equivilant to forty or fifty years. Hell, there's one captain now who's got 25 years of all of types of fishing experience and is only 29-years old. That must be some kind of new math where you combine algebra and calculous to get the figure you want. The stuff that comes up on that site is amazing, going so low as to pick on a guys wife acussing her of being a stripper because they don't like him. I've always wondered how so many people who claim to hate the man have seen his show and knows what he does.
If I spent the time arguing about how many boats I see fishing in areas that I fish, I'd probably never catch another fish in my life. There wouldn't be any time left to fish. Fish also do this strange this called swimming. They also don't conform to what any human believes they should be comforming to.
There are at least 20 or more areas in the bay where you can fish each one for 10 or 15 minutes and move to the next and catch almost the same tide if you know where to go and how to make the right moves. if there are boats in spot 1, 2, or 3, you simply go to number 4, 5, or 6. if you don't know that, then you don't have enough time (years) on the water to begin with.
What amazes me is, the spot in question on the video didn't produce one single fish nor even a hit that day. if I were looking for somewhere to go, that would surely be the first on my list where two guys caught nothing. Makes perfect sense to me.
This is one of the reasons I don't get on these sites. More bull than content."

Larry, I think I can speak for jim when I say...he just sees past the BS and is not afraid to say so...The guy is well respected paid tons of dues, has written two books and over 2000 articles and done countless 100s of seminars all over the country, however if you put him on here, he would not be listened to, and for the person in the last post to say Jim would burn a spot is mind numbing, I mean the guy is 60 years old and has forgotton more than most think they know? He has an impecable reputation, I think unlike me, he is smart enough not to come on here and get abused for his point of view...something I am all to use to...But for some reason get it when its not warrented...anyway, that was a private email to me that he told me on the phone to go ahead and put it up...Jim reads this board all the time, he is well aware of what goes on if your not in the "circle" or dont comform to the cronies...its noticable to him and I am sure a few others that advice given here is only taken or listened to when it conforms to what the core of the board feels is apropriate, anyone else is called a "celebrity" "spot burner" lousy bait fisherman" etc...you get my point...Only surfcasting is good, boats suck, its cheating....that type of thing...But anyway if he wants on I am sure he is capable of doing so when he is ready...Jim is a good friend of mine and a fishing partner, I dont want him to get what I get...

Ok guess I will and you asked...It is my opinion...only an opinion and not prsonall against one person, that mods are chosen based not on any other reason except they conform to a certain ideology almost in my mind like a cult setting, if you think "outside" certain parameters or have just a slightly shaded view of things you are not fit to be a mod....So thats what I think, there are people here who have been on since day one and before that...yet they will never get that shot because they are either not with the core or, because they are pashinate about certain issues that somehow makes them mentaly unfit to be a mod...Most of the mods are also people who were involved in that "secret" bashing board of a couple years ago, in there they were free to say whatever they wanted about there fellow man....but never on the board oh no, it wouldnet conform...I kind of see it as robots with almost no free will...Thats only my opinion..

I would never want to do it and thats not my goal, just calling it as I see it...One thing I am not is a robot...I have seen some people pull posts for no good reason? except they didnt like the person, thats all I can think of...

Ultimatly, This is johns baby, and he has done wonders with it! I give him kudos for that...But its sometimes to cult like...

It seems to me that the mod were chosen because most of them are level headed, or in the begining some volunteered because John could not be on here 24/7. He nneded help and we offered. If you think you can do a better job, then I for one would welcome you as a mod. As far as a super secret skull society, that was ,meant as a place for senior members to trade info on stuff not related to the site, and get a place to make posts that did'nt become hand grenade targets. It got out of control, and off the beaten path and it was closed. I believed John and the board moved on from that. In the words of a championship coach " It's time to focus on the next game" ...

Wintertime drama.

This stuff is getting old. Who cares how many books someone's written, how many hours on the water, how many fish they caught in the last 37,000 years. In the end it's all chest beating cuz there is always someone out there that's done more that doesn't blab about it online.

This crap drags the site down. Take it offline and quit the friggin soap opera.

It's a guy with a Prince Valiant haircut, who wears a pinstriped suit featuring a double breasted jacket and bell bottom pants, wearing a hot pink shirt and a paisley tie, who says "groovy" a lot.
If you also drove a GS scooter and fought with Rockers in Brighton beach in 1964 that would seal it
