I, for one, would like to see some pics of your sizable fish, posted here, in a thread of your own.

For me, a 19# fish can be a big fish, when I have been fortunate to get it after catching many smaller, even sub-legal fish. It's all relative. We're not all destined to get a 50, 40, or even a 30# fish.

By big bass I meant fish in the 25+pound cat. We were watching them all last week cruise the flats in great numbers. 100's of fish in that range is big to me and you don't see that everyday. If someone out there was sick of catching 50's and 60's then they should go get "bored" doing something else.

i never said that it wasn't a Decent fish,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

just not what I would consider BIG/LAHHHHGE.
that is a sweet belly-filler, but not a big striped bass, imho.

and yes, i have caught several in that size range and 1 fish over 30#,
with this only being my third full year of surfcasting................
not chest beating, only offering my opinion. for me large does not start
until 30# and up, ask around ~~i think others would agree

while i respect your opinion, nightfighter, i will respectfully disagree
with your relativity/subjectivity interpretation of what is LAHHHGE.

Yep, always a good time on the goodskiff lollipop. Very relaxing no stress, no pressure atmosphere. Just casting plugs for fish to eat and good times.
Warm water, cool water,dark water ,deep water, shallow water, it's all good.

well big and large are 2 different catagories according to the other thread and your reply. You said since when is a 25 lb bass big, I guess you need to change your definition you wrote yourself then. If you want to be taken seriously, you may want to be consistent with your posts. those are the goals for me, so far so good,
and i LOVE the challenge and the mindset that
is required to not settle, and TO go for sum Big Gurls.

rats to [U]big[U] bass = 28" to 30 lbs. I think 25 lbs falls in that area towards the upper end and a 25 pound bass is no slouch so if it can't be a rat, it must be big.

conclusion = 25 pound bass are big

rats to big bass means simply that there are two ends of the spectrum within that particular classification.

imho, 28# - 30# is a big bass and not 25, 26, nor 27#.
and if you were paying attention i began the
Lahhhge category at 30#+,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nitpick if you must,

NOPE, to answer yer question!!

it takes 30# to begin to be large, and
i have a very small window for "big".

just a common and easier amount than say 35#+
as the benchmark for Large; because if you do make 35#
the cut off, then it throws everything off from a tenpound
classification system perspective.

however, in the interest of compromise and reasonable discussion,
if we were to agree on BIG as being from 25# to 35#, LAHHHGE from 35# to 50#,
TROPHY from 50# to 78.8#, IGFA from 78.9# to 95#, and MONSTAH from 95#+,
then that does allow for some more wiggle room at the bottom
and it enhances the middle and the top, as well.

simple and clean, and a little more inclusive..................

00# to 24# ~~ rats/dinks/schoolies
25# to 35# ~~ Biggs
35# to 50# ~~ Lahhhge
50# to 78# ~~ Trophy
79# to 95# ~~ IGFA
95# to ???? ~~ Monstah

and i would agree with Nebe, that anything over 50#,
is a Fish of Lifetime. very interesting opinions and thoughts, gents.
hope to be notching sum bigger ones this year, and climbing
the scale with consistent and larger catches and releases...........
