Thanks for the picture, I thought I was to wander in the wilderness forever wondering what a chumster looked like. Thanks for putting the quarter in for scale. That is a handsome lure. I just saw the real thing in the other chumster post and they are a thing of beauty.

Bliz, Great to hear , Slip is one knowledgeable wood guy...I learned some great tips from him...
Maybe we can trade in the near future...
For now, how about looking at a White Scale Chumster with regular lip...

Chumbucket: How do you make the bends in your lips? They are looking perfect and was wondering if you use a special tool or does it just come with expierience

Craft shops also have doll eyes.

I make the bends in a vise with aluminum angle on the jaws to protect the metal. Layout lines on the blank, line them up and tap to final angle with plastic lead-loaded hammer and sometimes a small piece of wood to get into that last bend

i trolled the chumster from the swap on the vinyard today on my friends boat and absolutely cleaned up with it. too bad it wasnt all bass, blues make paint go bye bye. 2 at a time take off twice the paint and leave twice the damage

I finally got the original pics at the beginning of this post. Thanks to whoever fixed it. Nice work Chumbucket, I hope that someday i can learn to paint like you, or maybe half as good. Starting out at 50y.o. I'll never have enough time to get that good. Also thanks Striperknight for the tip on the eyes.
