OK 15 due last day of March or sooner (not later).

Everyone should follow the directions and be sure to include the return envelope with postage.

I also suggest individually bagging the flies in little bags or envelopes. I've done a few swaps and its a shame to see all the flies come in all tangles and ruffled because they weren't seperated into small individual envelopes. These are some nice stuff and deserve to be protected.

You decide on a fly yet Dave? I don't know what I'll make. most useful would be a springtime teaser but its so simple people would feel chinced. I'm considering a bnker type made from that eery colorful see through stuff I gave you last year. I find it hard to work with (makes a mess) but it does produce nice flies.

That one that you put in the sink to float around was nice. I'm not sure on a fly yet . I have to look over the supplies and see what I have enough material and hooks for . I'll be looking through the stuff tonight and put it aside for friday, so I can just bring a small amount of stuff to smokie's not the whole mess. Bring some jigs and hair if you want to wrap some of those while we have the vises.

Not if you wanted to tie up two each. I had thought about a Ray's Fly but would tye up two each instead. Then you can use them as a double with the fly rod. This is not the fly I am going to tye though.

I think I'll go with the bunker style. That is the one I dragged around in my sink to show Dave. Its a beauty but a pain to make. The material makes a mess everywhere and building up the body is hard but what the heck , we got a long time to finish them.

This material has no name (that I know of) but it glows real nice in the water with lots of irridescense. When you see the fly its not too impresive but pull it through the water with low ambient light and you'll be wowed!!

Actually Ray's Fly is a beauty Jeffsod.. Just one wouldn't be chincing people at all.

The spring teaser is a small hook with just a small amount of bucktail tied on . You can use white bucktail and red thread. Another good one is Chartruese bucktail with white thread. Just a small thing as simple as they get. Very simple but will account for more fish than almost anything you'll use all year. Too simple though for a swap. People can tie their own easy enough.

I love using the Ray's Fly early in the season when the bait is scarce and small. I usually do very well fishing this fly.
I have even had good success down in Florida using it.

15, Oh I guess I should have kept tabs on this thread I got 13 done today almost. 2 more to go My daughter Jenna(8) also tied one with a little help from popperjohn.I wonder how a clouser will cast with a spinning rod?

I am going with a Clouser - chartruse and white. And it has a pinkish red head so don't think this won't catch since the colors kinda clash, the red near the head drives the bass nuts.

Smokey is done. I have ten tied so need one more night at it. I believe dave L is almost done and Steve L is about half done. We still got plenty of time.

The ones I'm making are a real pain. I make a big mess and I
have to go slow as the material is very difficult. Oh well. Next time I'll keep it simpler!

Hello Tyers,
I just finished my flies, The Black Beauty as seen in the Feb.-Mar. issue of Saltwater Fly Fishing. Man, what a process to tie.
I haven't received any new flies since my last posting, March is around the corner so get those bobbins threaded and start wraping.
