Ok heres the plan for 2003. The house has been sold so we will need to clear the land up on the hill to pitch a tent just to stay out of the rain . I am thinking of going over in May for a weekend to clear a spot on the land, if anyone would like to go I would love the company. I think we can then do a June derby as we did last year and another in Sept. and then the Ct. challenge in Oct. if thats when they are going if its ok with them for us to join in the fun. I am looking at a new tent that will sleep 12 and should have it by then. We will also have a golf cart or a quad for our use for the old timers. Goose one good thing the land up on the hill has a path that leads right to that point of rocks I hope we can still use the Nor-Easter shuttle but I hear he is looking at changing boats so we will have to see. But Donna Hunters son runs a shuttle at the time you want and would be about the same price if need be. The Fri night over and Sunday morn. return worked good what do you think? I have talked to her about it already and was told it would be no problem if need be. So we will wait to hear from Chet and go from there. I have a list of those that asked last fall to go agian and would not tell anyone they could not join in but would need to keep it to 10-12 like last year if possible. I found that to be a good and manageable number.

John I was planning on getting you and Clammer over more this season. I think I have worked out another pole in the harbor for the season for use by any S-B member that would need to use so long as I got a few days notice so as not to have more that two show up at a time. I would like to see if we can find someone with a dingy that they might like to donate to the cause that could be left on the new pole so no one would need to take one over each time.

GB,
In 99% sure that the 2003 Cuttyhunk Open will be the last weekend in September. As a representative of the Cuttyhunk Rod & Gun Club, I (Slater Anderson) organize it with Rich Russo from the CSA. Any S-B guys are welcome to participate as is any one on the island at that time. The Open begins at 5pm on Friday night, so you guys will need to get there sometime before that to take full advantage of the 24 hours.
John Paul Hunter (Donna's son - as you probably know) is a good friend of mine and I use his water taxi services regularly. He can carry up to 16 people and it cost $18 a head each way last year.
I'm curious what house you're talking about that got sold on the island? Sarmento?

good going on the pluggage Greg Those are some fine pieces of history, at least you have that.
Greg I may be able to fit the dingy in my van on an angle so I can get it to my house to change the gunnels and fasten the seats better, but it floats so what the hey.

Mike the herring sounds like a good idea and with your boat and mine we could take over enough bait for some real fun. Yes Bill you are right and it will not take all that much to clear a spot for the tents as I had a good flat spot all clear a few years ago so I am thinking a little cutting and alot of fishing!!!!!!!!

dingy is at A&J in Marion just to let ya know. It shouldn't take much to get her ship shape, a little mahogany, a few screws and a coat of varnish on the new gunnel.
If I make it out there this year I want to fish where Fish-eye fished

John, it's glass. only the gunnel is wood. But yes it is classic.
It has some repair to the bottom where my bud accidently ran it over with his 33' boat while negotiating the mooring

Yes on the May labor land clearing for me. The sooner you finalize a date, the better. Lemme know what you need for tools, etc.
And don't leave me out on the new cottage construction either GB. Maybe a kit home would work! How about a log construction project! PM me anyway.
And of course I would welcome any chance to get back for a fishin' fling with you all too!!!
Sending reel back to Okuma tmw for rebuild or replacement. Will update as soon as I know.
Swapping weekends with ex, means I am in for Feb 15 if room. PM me please.
Thanks
Ross
