Go to the library and see if you can find a book on roll & tip...
What kind of respirator do you have?
Did you see the motor info?

I don't have a respirator- that's why i need to use a roller.
I tried, no books on anything like this......
and a book wouldn't tell me what brands and how much ?
Just asking these little questions.
-------------
1) Primer. (what kind ?Do i need it ?)
2) Paint. (Topside,Decks...Red White & blue)
3) SAND-PAPER. (what 'grits' do i need, and how many)
4) Rollers. (what ever kind i need for applying this paint)
5) Brushes.
6) Crack Filler. (cheapest, Resin, Marine Tex? etc.)
7) any final stuff i didn't mention.
----------------
Please answer as many as possble- Saturday is closing i fast and i need a list ASAP
thanks,
Mike

Even doing roll & tip - this stuff can KILL you if you don't have a respirator. I'm very serious about this. You REALLY need to look into this a lot more first before starting this weekend. Another problem you will have is that you have the wrong temp ranges (too cold) and bad humidity if it snows. Unless you have a heated garage that does not use a combustion based heater that will go BOOM from the explosive & toxic fumes, you REALLY need to wait on this stuff. Did I mention that this Sheet could kill you? Or at least cause respiratory problems or cancer?
How much are you going to have into this boat? And where are you going to keep it?

Always Trailered- may spend a night on the islands but that's it. I am pretty sure i have no need for Anti-Fouling Paint?
I don't care how much i have into it, or how much it's worth- I like the boat, it fits me, not too big, but yet it can handle the bay I'm looking into $200 in paint, Primer,Filer Putty and SAND-PAPER...... I'm going to restore this old "Shell" even if it don't see water till mid summer....... these old strcrafts are real classics- i have had offers (nothing major) to buy it from members of a Classic forum i go on once in a great while
John, you are mistaken, I'm not starting the painting this w/e, waayyyyy to cold, not only for the paint- but for me (i haven't even started stripping it yet ) I'm buyin' the paint this w/e but it will sit until say-------- Mid March
My dad can get respirators at work,i'll ask him to borrow a couple.
I took pictures of it today (w/ a cheap CVS camera )so i have to scan the after i develop em. Then i will take "After" Pictures---- so we can see the differance
What sheet could kill me????
Now, i don't know what to buy, 100, 80, 545185818, Grit sand paper? i dunno?

I give up.
You said you have this really big high pressure compressor "like a red tube", then you ask how much it cost to rent a compressor?
Anyway - good luck.

Give up if you please.
yer mistaken, BillyBob,,
I said I THINK IT'S A COMPRESSER, how the heck do i know what it is ? it sits in my shed covered with all kinds of stuff...
How much is it to rent one, cause:
1) i don't know if it IS one.
2) if it IS, does it work?
3) it's a million pounds and stuck in there, hard to see what it says
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How much is it to rent a GUN them
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW: i think i will Roll & Tip it, cause i don't know if that "THING" works or even is a compresser,,,,,,,,,,i'll asked my dad when he gets home from work
Anyways- ^^^^ crucial questions, please.
back on topic
thanks-
Mike

I am selling my MFG this year, and it is in cherry condition.
Maybe I can sell it ot someone who cares more about it

Mike- yhh (that would be ,"you have homework) http://www.yachtpaint.com/USA
Everything you need to know is here. Boat painting supplies usually go on sale in mid-March. Sandpaper never goes on sale! It is hard to know what grits you will need, it's more of a trial and error process. Get your hands on a random orbit sander, hook and loop model if possible ( sandpaper attaches like velcro to the sander). Remember, preparation prior to painting is 95% of the work. If you must buy paint, pick up a quart of primer which you can use to practice with if you get a section ready and get a nice day. The finish painting goes very quickly. For example, my girlfriend and myself could pant the hull of our 37' Egg in a couple of hours tops. In fact you can't move slowly as the one part poly starts curing in about 3 minutes. You need to keep a "wet edge" at all times.

Goose, I'll see what i can do but it's slim chance.
I haven't been looking at the Thread about this- it's like 30 pages long now- When is it, where ?
Van, MFG awsome boat!
Not only is there a message board, but click on "The Boats" and there is a list of Manufactuers, Find MFG and check it out, alot of info..
You will definety find a buyer- theres collecters w/ like 30 boats of the same brand It would be best to Include a Picture also.
Good Luck, i'll look for it
TRO, great link- thanks alot
