I will put up some pics later. I added weight and re tested them all but one worked so I will let them dry then seal paint and epoxy. I decided to take on lipped swimmers of all kinds (Bottles, and datetrs too) when I ran out of metal lips. as a newer builder I was alittle intimidated by the failure rate but figuring out how to get them to swim correctly is a fun challenge.

More taper and thinner in the tail section, leave the small belly weight about 1/3 forward of the tail and add 1/4 x 3/4 tail weight. This plugs pivots from the tail!! Finicky plug but if you use Paul's (ProfM) drawing http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...710-post8.html it will swim "Perfect"

I did use his drawings I forgot to mention they have tail weights. 3/8 x 1 The larger ones I did on my own after a sucessful test of the smaller ones. those were the ones I had to play with. I also tweaked the angle of the lip a little.

3/8 x1 tail weight is to much, half that amount should work.

Finished Pics are in fall plugs thread I just started
I put less weight in the tails. I still have to put hooks on them and test. They all worked before I painted them so I have high hopes.

Looking to make a few of these.Struggling to read the plans a little. What is the distance from the tip of the nose to the thinnest part of the neck?

Roughly 7/8 to 15/16. When you cut the angle leave it a little longer and sand it to the final length, kind of sneaking up on it.

Can I ask for one more measurement, please. What is the distance between the fattest part of the body and end of the tail.

I just started working on these last week. A big 4.5oz and 2.5-3 oz one.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few different styles, should be a winner.

If you can send me one of the dupes you made I would try. Don't have access to this plug to make one. I recall Numby posting x-rays of this plug so I can figure out the weight placement from that.

Eric he posted that x ray for the larger size I believe. Larry is making the slightly smaller size, the one I posted. If he can't send you one I will. I got a few left and just cut stock last nite to make more this winter.
