There are no fish in the canal

they are in the ocean

carry on

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

East End - Saturday into sunday, I fished all 3 west to east change overs and two+ hours into the east on all 3 tides.

I caught 1 bass that was about twice as big as the plug. I saw only one other fish taken and it was about 22".

I fished bombers on the edges at the slack, buck tails, crips and slugos of all colors in the hole and nothing.

I have a few questions for you Canal sharpies and floaties...although I cringe at the thought of being a Canal floatie...like this redlite character...

Is it possible to catch fish at the canal at night during the fall run or does it all happen during the day?

It's a very confusing place...how come when the wind blows east, the tide still runs west?

Does the lower water column flow in unison with the upper water column or does it take a while for the top to catch up to the bottom or vice-a-versa?

If I snap a jig off on the East end, why doesn't it ever wash ashore on the West end,,, even when the tide is pushing that way?

Why did they remove the porta-john from the middle area? Was it due to the amount of floaties drifting by?

Why are there sea-gulls painted on the concrete? Is that to mimic an ongoing blitz from the other side??

Speaking of the other side, why are the fish always busting on that side?? ...and when they are, why are the guys on that side still trying to cast to the opposite side?

Why are there ropes every 40 feet leading into the water?? Is that to secure the canal so it doesn't float away??

Someone should write a "Canal for dummies" thread....lot of us on here. ...I know I could use the help,,,,,,,and what in God's name is a TROLL?

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

One of the nice thing about information sites is that they,re there to pass information.Love to see someone hide the canal. Never knew it was just there for a few to enjoy but some are just plain that way. On my way back there in an hr or so. Hope there are still some fish for a drive by. As far as spot burning wellllll the herring run kinda stands out like Wasque Rip on the Vineyard and the Merrimac River LOL. Ron

The Herring Run is a spot burn....just as it would be if you named any of the other named spots there or a pole number. Problem many have is that they actually put in their time there and work hard at it and then someone posts a report like that and all the report chasers show up and reap the rewards having never slogged through the down days and put in untold hours there! I have no problem mentioning the canal......but you have to name a spot??

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

There's a report that a 22 foot boston whaler has grounded on the backs of 100's of massive stripers and can't move. The captain and his fishing buddy are catching them as fast as possible and the boat is slowly lowering back into the water. Could take days.

The TeleCAM- Cape Cod Canal is a magic mirror, which, according to Albus Dumbledore, shows the "deepest and most desperate desire of our hearts."

"Men have wasted away before it, not knowing if what they have seen is real, or even possible."
—Albus Dumbledore explaining the danger of the mirror to Harry Potter[src]

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Its on as we speak...get back down there...you must have left five minutes too early.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Story of my fishing life this year.

I have had to go away on 5 business trips between May and Today. During or immediately before every single trip, the canal went on fire and stayed on fire until the day I got home and rushed to the canal.

My favorite situation like this was when I went to Seattle a couple months ago. The canal was going nuts with all the macks in there. Was on a redeye flight home and soon as I landed received a picture of a 30# bass caught while I was in the air. Got dropped off at home, changed and headed to the canal... it was completely dead and stayed that way until my next business trip when it lit up again and I couldn't get there.

So as a heads up, tell everyone when your next business trip is going to be so they can get ready and make plans for the next BIG BLITZ!

It was FAC at daybreak, Paul. And still pretty dead. I thought that I had a bump when I threw tin on a break, but then realized that the thing probably fell right on the head of a 12" bass

If that was a 45 pounder rolling on bait, my plug wouldn't have landed within 20' of it---but I'm Deadeye #^&#^&#^&#^& when throwing tin on dinks

That's why I like to stick to jigs at night
