caffeine leeches the calcium right out of your bones
so while i found it impossible to Not drink coffee entirely
i do so in strict moderation and remember to take my calcium
and get enough sunshine and/or vitamin D so i can absorb it.

Dunks is OK....but they tend to make it a little weak. I actually prefer getting it from the smaller coffee shops around my area if I can. There's a place directly across from Dunks in Georgetown that has much better coffee.

I stop at Cumbies enroute to canal, in Halifax. $.99 for a very large cup of Joe. It taste as good as DD's. And for those who don't know, Macdonalds coffee has Neuman's own on the cup but it is made by Green Mountain Coffee.

I cut WAY back on DD.
Really only time I buy it now is days on the boat as most of those days I'm out the door 3:30 -4:00 am.
Wife makes WAY better coffee at home !
And she doesn't give me a dirty look when I don't tip her.

Stopped going to DD when they farmed out the making of their donuts, the crullers suck now. Quit coffee when the price of gas went up, and only have an iced coffee maybe 10 times a year now, quit soda too. Next thing to go are the smokes.

Aren't all the donuts made in Abington at Cadete Enterprises and delivered all over Eastern Mass.
I look like I eat donuts but don't. Everything bagel with chive creme cheese rocks big time about every two months. Pick a couple up and visit my 85 year old mother and have coffee with her. She loves them.

went to Vermont camping
I go to get the camp stove and the cooking utensils
and they are no where to be found...
so i says to the wife...
Did you grab that box i had in the kitchen?
she says to me "what box"?
the one that said CAMPING ON IT!, i yell
i thought you packed it she explains....
so now we have coffee and creamer
but no way to heat up the water..
later ......
i'm starting to feed the dog and in the
dog food bag there was a stainless steal measuring cup
used as a scoop.....
so i built a hot fire and heated one cup of water at a time
Luckily we had coffee cups with us at least...
that was the best tasting cup of coffee i can remember
and we used that little measuring cup all weekend.

I didn't know who makes them or where they are made, but the crullers taste like those Little Debbie's glazed crullers now and they lost me as a regular customer who used to count on them for 2 large iced a day. On the rare occasion I do get a coffee it's Honey dew or McDonald's now. Their microwave sandwiches are a waste of money also and I won't ever buy a way over priced colatta which I understand cost them 20 cents for a large and they charge $4.00 . Starbucks will never see me either because I'm a cheap bass turd who expects value not gouging.

Just like every other quick service restaurant, Dunks has everything pre-made, then prepared when its ordered. If you want it fast, there has to be a compromise. I don't eat many of the products myself but a lot of people do and seem to think they're good.
Ed, I can assure you that the coolatta is more expensive to make than you think. If you ever want to learn how its done and see the real cost to a franchisee, come visit me at work.

i go in to order a regular french vanilla coffee
and the manager is standing there watching over his newest protege
"I'll have a french vanilla regular coffee medium size please" , i said
she says to me: "is that with cream and Sugar?" i said, "yup!"
" regular means cream and sugar..."
she turns and looks puzzled at the manager who's grinning now because i am too...
then he gives me the NOD nod , wink wink
shes a winner ain't she look
and i grinned even wider.....which pleased her very much

Last of the real good donuts
In Abington on route 123 across from J.P.s' Homestyle Turkey restaurant is a Dunks. It used to be Honey Dew and before that it was a coffee shop that was run by a greek kid that showed up every morning at 2 a.m. and they started making the donuts. used to go in there at 4 a.m. when I worked the midnight to 8 shift for twelve long god damn years and get a black coffee and two fresh plain crullers. No he never charged me because I used to stay for awhile and when I was there he never had any trouble with the drunks who stayed out till the 2 a.m. bar closing. Those were the last best donuts I ever ate with a close second being just cooked and dipped honey galzed.
