Influx that is very true. It is a resident only beach but precedence can steamroll down the coast. What happens in Plymouth can have a huge effect on what happens everywhere. We can not allow people like this to take our access away.
If Goldenfraud wins this battle just think of how many whack jobs will come out of the woodwork and start suing your town and your beach. They have taken enough already.
* Goldenrod wants to shut down the beach to ALL human activity. It is only a resident only beach for a drive on permit. Anyone can walk on. If they get their way nobody will be allowed on that beach.

...and if you think that is bad check out this article. It seems that non-profit organizations do not have to pay the lawyers even when they lose because of the ESA. Essentially we are paying for our own demise. The lawyers win either way.

more like GoldenNIMBYrod foundation, tax exempt part is unbelievable on top of everything else, this situation as far as beach access goes has to be the worst yet, if I was a Plymouth taxpayer this would be the deathmatch

That beautiful wrap around deck on their "personal" property is brand spanking new. I wonder how much that disturbed the birds while it was being built. They also do not want boats coming near or landing at the point. They say the wake from the boats disturbs the birds. They are out of control NUTS! When confronted they stumble and grasp at straws. They are bigots, they only want people on their side to post on their page. LMAO they recently asked for pictures of shorebirds for a new calendar. I had pics of a bird I rescued from being beat in the surf, taking shelter from the wind against my cooler. They didn't pick mine, must have been the coexistance thing stopping them.

It has already been established that if these effers get their way,the rest of the state would be inclined to follow along. As a precedent would be set, that noone had the $ to oppose in court. If I was a M#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&(which,I'm glad I'm not) I'd take this very seriously.

Hecker is a Duxbury resident but he is not fighting to protect shorebirds in his own hometown. Wonder why? No money in it I guess.

Drive out to Saquish and see what the residents do to the fencing the bird freaks put up. Kindling wood is one their favorites uses.

I am not saying preserving access is not the most important issue shore fishermen face. I hate how hard it is to access many areas. I just find it ironic that the organization is called Plymouth beach for all when it is resident-only for orv permits. We all know that without vehicle access, in particular parking, the beach can be called "public" but that's really pretty disingenuous is only residents are allowed. Just a gripe I have with MA beaches in general. It's only a step away from what these whack jobs want to do, if you think about it. It's all about limiting access.

In this case the "FOR ALL" means Shorebirds, Wildlife, Reasearch Workers, Dogs and humans living (or playing) in coexistance. Plymouth beach could not handle the influx of vehicles should it be open to the public. Letting residents only drive the beach is no different than letting "fishermen only" drive the beach and that is what many of them are, especially at night.

The decision came down in favor of Plymouth Beach. PLYMOUTH WON AGAIN. It is not over but this is good news. I will post more when I see something in writing.

yup ..
PLYMOUTH — A long-awaited ruling by an administrative judge has upheld the management plan that allows off-road vehicles on Plymouth Long Beach.
Magistrate David Hoover’s recommended decision, released Tuesday, finds no merit in Goldenrod Foundation’s claims that the use of off-road vehicles on the beach constitutes a “take” of endangered species.
The ruling would maintain the town’s policy of allowing off-road vehicles onto the outer portion of the three-mile beach after protected piping plovers have fledged in early summer.
Goldenrod Foundation challenged the plan, claiming it did not adequately protect the plovers or roseate terns, another protected species.
Hoover heard testimony on Goldenrod’s challenge to the beach management plan last summer. His ruling found the challenge unsupported by meaningful or competent evidence.
The ruling also questions the motives of Goldenrod founder Kate Muther, who owns a private home on the beach and spends part of her summers there.

Thanks Tagger!
Kudos to the Town of Plymouth and the people of Plymouth Beach for All Coalition for sticking to their guns and getting the true facts out in the open. Enjoy your beach!
Now I want to know what will become of this-"The ruling also questions the motives of Goldenrod founder Kate Muther, who owns a private home on the beach and spends part of her summers there."
Is she going to be allowed to continue this foolish witch hunt she is on?
All of this is a waste of time and money.

Trouble in Paradise?
From Wicked Local 3 Hours ago. Looks like a small problem at Goldenrod
The whole thing was a scam' Hecker said as he left the Goldenrod Cottage for the last time. 'We all knew there was no meaningful evidence.'
'Ya, but we expected a little bit of COMPETENT evidence!! That's why we fired your A$$!' Muther could be heard yelling from the window.
'I did all I could for those mean, ignorant, selfish snakes.' Hecker mumbled under his breath.
'I can hear you. And I must say, I agree with everything except where you said you did all you could. Now leave! Go do nothing for somebody else!'
And that's how it ended.

This is a concern for me. (My emphasis added)

I hope they don't use the Plymouth plan as a template in other areas.

I'm not sure how strict Plymouth beach is but I drive Plum Island every fall and have heard that all the other beaches watch what gets done there (Plum Island) then set there rules accordingly.
As much as I love Plum Island after last fall I may never go back

Most beach plans are like Plymouth's already with the exception of a total dog ban. (and they are working on changing that now)
All is silent on the Golden Fraud FB page. Most of us have been banned from posting there. I would love to see the link put up there for that article. Their "FANS" need to know the truth about them.

More Plymouth sightings just in time for your appeal to the courts to ban beach access for your elitiest crowd I see. What a bunch of uptight, pretentios people you all are. Trying to ban access so people dont disrupt your vacation home on Long Beach.

Maybe a visit from the "Yak Rats" could be in order?
Have a beach meeting, and claim that the Yak Rats are a non-profit organization, then they can file a complaint against Goldenfraud if they so much as fart in the yakkers direction.
Turn their idiocy against them and see how they like being on the receiving end of the stick.
If worse ever came to worse, maybe they could surround their luxury home.....I mean "research facility" with a fence preventing them for accessing it for as long as WE want, and claim its "for the birds" (literally)!!!

Hey ya know I am a birdwatcher too. I watch for birds dive bombing bait all the time. I even have some cool binoculars. If I bring a clipboard will they allow me to bask in the sun all day in the name of research?
