Well the news is getting bleaker by the day, he is now fighting a urinary tract infection. Still not able to eat much and is have pain off and on but hospice is there and they are wonderful people. Mom and the rest of the family are really having a hard time. Bill and I are trying to take care of business here so we can get down there as soon as possible as the nurse told mom yesterday we may only have weeks.
As I said before I just don't want him to suffer or be in pain and they are taking good care of him in the pain category. Its just really sad, my heart aches for him and my whole family, just hope I can get down there in time. Thanks and please keep praying for him and my family!!!
I just want dad to be at peace.

Hi All, just a little update for you, Dad is not good but hanging in there, we did have the whole family here for Easter so it was a wonderful day. Hospice says he does not have alot of time left but God is in charge of that catagory as we all know. He is still in alot of pain when we have to roll him as he is getting bed sores, but hospice who have been absolutely wonderful for our family, are taking good care to try and keep him form getting to many. He is not eating much now but is still drinking good. Does not say much and gets confused at times. We know his time with God is coming soon. None of us want to see him suffer any more.
We all keep telling him how much we love him and I told him the other day that we are going to take good care of mom, and he kept trying to say some and repeated the word don't several times and he looked at me and said "don't worry" Its so hard to see him suffering but we are all thankful to be able to have this time with him to tell him how we feel.
As sad as cancer is at least we have that opportunity right now to be with him and talk and just comfort him. Alot of people never get that chance to say goodby. Right now we are all just praying for him to be at peace and keep him pain free. I thank all of you again and again for all the prayers you have sent to me and Bill and my family. We love you all and we keep you posted.
Please keep praying for the lord to lift him up to that special place he has waiting in heaven. I told him when he gets there he needs to be watching down on me with my grandfather and send a couple of 50 lb bass my way. He said OK!!!
Love you all, and thank you, Jules

I remember my fathers last few weeks in the V.A., just before they sent him to the nursing home, after he stopped talking basically, he could still sing his favoraite irish melody, smile then close his eyes for awhile. I knew he always knew you were there at his bedside, and I used to visit him at wacky times, when he was comotose, because I would hold his hand and he would squeeze back like you were being tested. So always hold your loved ones hand, they'll know its you.
