Lucky son-of-a-gun. Congratulations. All that skill paid off. Say, now that you have reached the pinnacle of striper fishing, you looking to unload all your gear?

Thank you all for the kind words. I think my next goal is to take a 40# on the long rod. I always said that if and when I get a 50# fronm the place i caught this one, I would move on to some new kinda fishing, and now I gotta uphold that promise I made to my self.

Oh I'll be there, would'nt dream of missing it. Matter of fact, I might be up next weekend for a little walk to the promised land. I need to catch a fish on a needle baaaaadly, bunkers are fun, specially when your gettin 10 fish over 25# a night, but after a while ya get this weird feelin' that ya smell kinda funny.

Congrats Dave. That is quite a fish! Very hard to get a fifty these days. Best of luck with your next goal of getting the 40 on the fly rod!
