On becoming ambassadors of fishing

A few yrs back I was walkin a casting my way back to where I'd parked. Had covered close to 7 miles .I came upon a couple guys all decked out with the poster child gear. Dry top,$200 plus dollar plug bag,fancy custom rods an good custom plugs.Real catalog hardcores.i know i've got all those toys too.Tried to spark a conversation but got punked off. So I just went on my way. Well I fished past the parking spot an got a sweet 38lb fish.
Got back to the parking lot an the social butterflies were having a hard time as their btry was dead.Well me bein me i helped them get their truck started and then loaded my fish to head for the weigh in. I ran into them the next night an they appolagized for acting like they did.I told them not to worry about it. we all act goofy at times. the key is not to take it all that serious. I fish with both of them every yr on the Island. We're good freinds an their kids enjoy the plugs I give them when I see them.
Fishing is fun and you get to make some memories with some really great people .Don't sweat the little stuff an enjoy it. try to treat people like you like to be treated. If someone makes an oops out of ignorance or because the interpret the rules different than you do well give them a break an show them the way.
None of us own any fishing spot . We just borrow it for a bit.Bob Pond told me that back in the 60's.Kinda makes sence.

working in a tackle shop,nothing is more satisfying than helping people out in thier qeust to catch fish.unfortunatly a good portion of those that fish a few times a season know more than those that are out there every night .it is rather amusing how someone who has no idea about fishing will listen to what you tell them and catch fish,and the so called seasoned fisherman who knows everythingand won't listen gets skunked.as much as i like helping people out when it comes to fishing i hate all the BS stories that i have to listen to,and honestly when i go fishing that is what i like to do ,i am not out there to shoot the breeze and reminesce.about when everyone caught 50's.funny thing is most of people can't catch a 28 inch fish now
