with a weather forecast like this past weekend, and threads like this, I can't say I was surprised to see the amount of boats at the ramp in Galilee this weekend. Trailers parked at least 1/2 mile down the escape road on both sides.

I hung out for another 1/2 hour and they didn't. I went back up the bay and went scupin'. Ended up with 2 hubcap Scup and a 4.5# Fluke. I was happy.

I expected a Sunday crowd also and they never materialized.. and I fished from 5 am till 1pm and covered some 40 miles .. Newport Harbor was a different story at 1pm when I went back to the Ramp it was a mad house ..

Likewise.... we saw the birds and bait and had been catching bluefish all morning.
I was taking a break and told my wife to take the helm, i sat down and closed my eyes, told her to be on the lookout for more birds feeding.
A few minutes later she said " I keep seeing funny looking white waves"
Keeping my eyes closed I said" stay away it could be rocks"....then it hit me..... i jumped up to see pods of bonito all around us crashing on the bait. Cast into them with a 2 oz pink Jig-it and hooked up right away.....man what fun.

fought some tough conditions this morning but we found them in the fog. Man these fish have been on a feeding mission. Big feeds. Stuck 8 bones then headed back in the slop. 5-10 my ass. I was soaked. Hard east blow. Still fun though.

3 from the rocks one day earlier this week, but should have had double that if it weren't for #^&#^&#^&#^& line. The fish were no where to be found this morning. Time to scout around again.

Not sure addictions should be praised, but thanks.
They've definitely thinned out since the wind change from the shoreline 'down there'. May try further east or a bit further west soon.

Tog and Albies will be missed this year with the boat sold, but will kick in gas if anyone needs a mate. Working only Wednesdays and Thursdays now so free to do a mid-week on another day.

I fished SoCo Sunday afternoon and didn't see anything at all. A few pods of bait barely being molested by birds. Nice getting in some day time casting practice.

Is this August or mid September? Acres of bass, blues, and bones yesterday. Huge schools of Macs and mullet. Had a bass, blue, bones slam yesterday and still left them feeding. It really has been a kick ass season.
