Probably best for me was a sunrise bull drum bite on Cape Point in Hatteras in April with my cousin. I am pretty sure he had never had a fish over 15 lbs before. Perfect weather, perfect wind, perfect sunrise. Picture is his fish which was probably in the range of 35lbs. We followed the crowd and used bunker chunks. His was on his first cast, which he sort of whiffed. Bait landed about 40' from the bank and came tight as soon as it hit the water. I waited to help him out then got one on my first cast that was high 30's low 40's. Soon as the sun broke the horizon they shut off, but we were good.

Thanks. I temporarily forgot what at least is an honorable mention. Went out in LIS end of summer with my 11 and 13 yo boys and my mom for a ride and to try jigging some sea bass. No luck on the jig but before heading to the ramp I ran up the harbor to a spot that often holds small blues. The Taylor's had peanuts trapped and we got them every cast. The 11 year old who is hard core into it had never experienced it like that and lauged hysterically the whole time. He even said "this is even way better than video games."
