Senior year in college I took 1 week off after spring break to go to Lake Tahoe. First day there no snow on the ground. That night it started snowing and continue snowing for 10 straight days. They couldn't keep up with it and you would go to a ski area Only to find out it was closed. Alpine Meadow had a Avalanche that wiped out baselodge killing a few people. It took us an extra five days the finally get home.

FWIW, My son lives in SLC and is a skier. All the ski mountains are closed. He and a friend were going to boot hiking at the Canyons today.

Mike,i made the big main sign at the Canyons when i was doing alot of subwork for a local sign maker here in VT.Paul 3 years ago,got over 10 ft of snow on my Tahoe trip,Squaw and Alpine closed the first 4 days,but Sugar Bowl stayed open,with nobody skiing because most roads were closed.right now just memories.Mike a number of people hiking and skining up at Sugarbush,if it alittle warmer tommorrow i will skin up for a run or 2
