Nice to see they are out there. My herring run spots are dead beyond what I have ever seen. Gives me mojo to to keep at it.

Well, I hit the beach this morning for the first time this season, had an hour to kill. Crosswind. But, picked up 4 schoolies before heading home to get ready to play golf Nothing showing and no birds, but they are here.

Not big by old standards, but it was a pleasant surprise to catch one way up inside BB, while targeting sea bass. The last weakfish I caught was also on one of my 4" split tails off Westport maybe 15 years ago, looking forward to something new for dinner tomorrow night. Another kayaker said he also dropped one at the yak, so a few must have been up inside.

that's awesome and a nice surprise when you get it to the boat and realize what you caught.....I used to get them in the Sakonnet but it was sporadic and usually Aug/Sept ....wish we had bigger populations...such pretty fish
