Get a cat... or three. Visited my girlfriend's parents last weekend, the cat catches and kills one/day sometimes 2-3 on a good day. The rabbits don't bother her garden either.

or

ya know what else they cannot resist....?

is a ten foot length of 3 inch pipe ....

you cap one end and put in a 1/2 inch hole for light....

you throw sun black sunflower seed down the closed end
by tipping it upside down so they can smell it....

then have just a few sunflower seeds 6 inches from the opening
so they get used to getting a free meal....in there

you make a quick disturbance and they'll scoot in there
to make a hasty retreat... for safety... then ya pull the string
on the can lid thats screwed to the open edge with one screw
and they are trapped... bingo

Cats aren't my favorite either. But boy do they do a good job at keeping the pests away.

STAR the Cattle dog has the job of chasing away all squirrels, cats,
foxes, coyotes, bears, and bobcats....

your laughin Now ...i can hear ya from here...
yes we have bears here on occasion around the wachuset res

in fact, the neighbors across the street have 3 cows and the bear
came around to try and eat one of them last year....

so the cows got mad, treed the bear and would not let him down
and guarded the tree until the wardens took care of the situation.

occasionally if i am going on an errand i make them a home depot chipmunk , or a stop and shop chipmunk- lol

as far as the legality of shooting them....it's some nosy neighbor that gets all pissed off about it....thats the problem and then she is for ever your enemy and watches everything you do and will report you at the drop of a hat.

when i was growing up

i was even more enthusiastic about watchin the birds...chasin off squirrels that robbed the feeders

and my Dad says to me.... after noticing all the maple trees looked like friggan HELL ..... in the late spring and summer...

i wonder whats wrong with them Craig?

i said: I know exactly why ! they have so few leaves DAD.
the squirrels are chewing the buds off the trees because they are SWEET as maple sugar.

he then bought me the hav a hart trap and i'd set it and sit there all day
watching it.... for hours on end.... perfecting my squirrel catchin ability to an ART form...

the reason you need the smallest one for the chippy's is because they don't weigh as much and sometimes they won't trip the bait lever on the big one.

the squirrels i relocated to the Charles river area after spray painting the tip of their tail silver ....so if they came back i'd know it.

soon, i was shooting silver tipped squirrels with the trusty ole Sheridan pellet gun with the weaver scope before school

DOUBLE SCORE TODAY

mouse in one and another little digger in the other bucket.

All that stone last night didn't do #^&#^&#^&#^&. They dug right through it back under the pool again. I think they must be able to smell something where the burrow is. No way he could have picked exactly the same place to redig. I'm thinking a little bleach sprinkled around there ought to fix his ass tonite. What a friggin mess this thing is making.

Arrow Salty....

if they have babies in a burrow nothing but nothing will keep them out

flushing with water will not work

because they dig a by pass trench in case of torrential downpours

Not sure about chipmunks , but i got the ground hog to move on. I had tried filling hole , with dirt/rocks, sticks etc. The bastard would dig it out in a day. So last fish i caught , i jammed all the guts/rack down in the bastards hole, and covered it with dirt. It's been about 3 weeks and no hog.

Thumbs up i was getting SKUNKED

almost daily.... not for a lack of catching fish ok

this friggan skunk had a den right behind my house
when i lived in Northborough...

every damn night he/she would spray...

and instantly my house got fumigated with skunk smell

then i read that skunks have a den within 100 feet of
where they spray often.... aha i said...

so i began searching like a forensics expert
and could not believe how close the den was
to my back porch...just 60 feet away

so i grab the hose one morning...turned it on
shoved it in the hole....
and sat down outside to have my coffee like normal

ten minutes or so goes by....

suddenly i noticed this shimmering light as the morning sun
shown through white baby skunk fur that was wet with water...

and the whole family came parading out of there
never to return..... to my ultimate satisfaction

I sprinkled about a pint of clorox all around the side of the pool. The whole area smells like clorox now so hopefully he won't be able to find the burrow again. If you could see the damage holy crap. 3-6' long burrows right across the bottom of the pool liner. This is not good. Course if he's inside I just wasted my time. If the hole opens tomorrow he's getting Salty's customized gas chamber.

NOTHING like the smell of skunk. I actually enjoy the smell I think it's pisser neat that mother nature could make something so vile that it pollutes air for a 1/2 mile in every direction My wife thinks I'm wacked. She's right.

If you need a skunk attractant, just hang a bunch of your plugs along the lip of your pool

well the clorox worked...no digging around that area but there's a fresh small hole about 10' away. Scratching my head because he ate through the weed cloth under the stone but the hole isn't big enough for anything to get in or out yet...

time for the propane
