That's my pimping hat. I thought much of the radar stuff came from the military drab get up I was in.
Gotta love a purple fedora with faux leopard trim.
Don't worry, it was from my brother's halloween costume lol.
Oh yeah, M*A*S*H* marathon on FX today. 8 am to 1 am all M*A*S*H*. All the ones with Radar have passed though. Poor Gary Burghoff. Has no career. I think he played the Radar Character quite well and added an integral part to the overall story line. A young man's innocence lost in a the time of war. Sorta has a Red Badge of Courage feel to it.
Now Alan Alda, don't get me started on him. Has his moments but I like the ones where Mike Ferrell was the center of attention. His character had a hook. Family man brought into war.
Although the show was a comedy, it did have it's other moments. Loss of Henry Blake, the madness of Frank Burns, C.E. Winchester having his arrogance leveled time after time. The comoradory and bunching of people who would never have been together being together.
Good show. Too bad it's off the air.

John, he's snapping his xra1083 on the cast , I think he loads it too much with 2 oz. But the rod is supposed to handle 2 oz. I was next to him one night when he snapped one first time out with it just below the tip. I was going to get one for next year , but not now.....

BM,
I think you should give me a 1083. Just so I can give it a try and make sure you aren't overloading it. You know, splintering graphite could hurt your eyes.

well it aint on small 12 to 16 pound twinkies or bigguns.
A , the god is ment to cast that weight, If it cant handle the load, then thaey should not specify it on the dam blank.
I can understand me breakin rods on 50 pound test in my rock mecca on 20 to 40 pound bass due to ripping them literally over the rocks at the place i fish in spring. due to some chips or nicks.
those rods are sm1363m or 2f cut down to around 9'10".
The tip is cut down to a size 14 and i cut the rest off the butt section.
I use penn squidders due to the spool capacity and spoolchange.
I trash usually 2 or 3 a spring. tork frames, strip gears. one year I blew out one side on a school of big bass to 46 pounds. the bearing blew out the side and i trashed the spool, to funny.
Fished the broken rod and pounded bass on top to the beach.
no big deal........................

I don't know BM - My sole Lami Arra has not broken and it's the one that brakes the most (or at least used to), the XRA1205... I don't get much into the squidder scene and I just use graphite sticks so.... You know, the AllStars are pretty tough and while I haven't used Seeker Blanks, I'm told you can practically drive over them they are so tough... I've also heard that the latest St Croix SC-V is pretty tough but have nothing to base that on other than a knowlegable surfcaster ( )

Speaking of "Driving over a blank". Those Graphite USA Blanks look really tough. One blank site took pictures or got pictures of a Ford Bronco driving over a Graphite USA stick and the blank didn't break or even distort into an oval.
Pretty impressive.
