I'm not complaining, Paul. In fairness to Flap he did let me know once he found out Thurs afternoon. I had to work Fri. The day I should have gone was Thurs am. I did consider it, but chose to spend myself fishing elsewhere all night Weds pm. Came up empty. So it goes. Truth is the canal is not my cup of tea (nor is chasing fish reports). I'm glad so many guys who work it so hard finally got their deserved reward, however.

43" pencil fish, got it at dusk tonight on the twin to the pencil I posted with the mangled hooks. Good thing I made 2... If it's 30 it will be my first 30 on a pencil.

since the celtics are whackkin' it about now, thought I'd catch up on putting up some pics of plugs of mine that have done some damage on fish for me this spring so far.
on the right is from top, a pikie I made a bunch of, a RM Smith danny that the bass wouldn't leave alone, then a spook modeled after a jigman spookk in that olivy color, a pearl white pikie I made, then a junior from Mike Thomas at M&D's
the right side has 3 plugs, a killer mr. pogie that swims amazing, then an awesome rockfish9 dater that catches even in the daytime, then a howdy I made.

2 more pics
the mac pencil worked well in the canal
the little swimmer is a chumbucket and the fish trashed it hitting it so hard, the belly swivel broke so I had to re-wire it before next time when it continued to attract the bass.

beauty.
George you did what you like and that is what is important. I personally didn't work hard for the fish, other than loose sleep. I am lucky to have several friends, mostly retired, i have got to know over the years that keep me in the loop. They called me on Sunday night and then on Tuesday and told of the issuing fishing, although i do mark those set of tides on the chart months in advance. I would have to give all credit to them and i hope I can reciprocate the info this year at some time fishing my favorite areas.

Eddie, Slingah got a fish on one of your swimmers, chum clone, on Friday. Larry must have gotten a picture. I wish I had black hair again.

Nice plug Tony. I was using something very similar, in pink too. Got to luv the hawg hunter type pencil for the canal. A proven slayer. Does it sink or just barley float?

44" on my pencil this morning. Probably should have weighed it in for team S-B but couldn't bring myself to kill it considering all the fish we had last year were bigger than it.

WTF, the one you gave me didn't catch anything over 30". Must have been a blem you were trying to get rid of...

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

$25, and no discount at the Plugfest.
Anyhow, the plug is paying itself back. That's more than I can say for the rejects I scrounge out of the Numbskull's and Flaptail's garbage and refurbish.
The plug: BF 2.3 Prey surfster lip.
The fish: 20-12, 39 1/2", ALS tagged No. 158844, and released.
Bonds to all who love the gene pool enough to release them.

only one fish away from the mini slam on my blue head spook.. Caught my first bluefish this season last night. It was awesome, the thing jumped like a tarpon and nailed it. What a cool sight and great feeling. All i need is a tuna on it and I'll have keeper bass, bluefish, and tuna all on the same plug. Anyone wanna take me tuna fishing?

Photo contest for a free plug?
Slingah put me on to a photo contest whereby I might win a free plug; but he suggested I may already have enuf.
Is it possible to have enuf plugs? What makes ya think I have enuf plugs?
