no Trump bump or jump till we had the Trump pandemic crash (who could have known) and now the economy continues to rise, though currently because the western world failed to acknowledge the dangers posed by Trump’s great friend, it’s hesitating somewhat. Probably with cause.
Of course if Tweety had been in charge we would not have had this issue, because his good friend Putin would never have invaded Ukraine on his watch.
Because Trump, Manafort, Flynn and patreons ad nauseum had no connections to Russia.

Even if he had great poll numbers he shouldn’t run again ..
It’s a combo of age and old Ideas !
a moderate centrist R or D would be nice but centrist can’t win the primaries in either party ,
So we’re stuck with a Trump clone with black hair or who knows on the Dem side it could be Sen. Amy Klobuchar or even Andrew Cuomo
We’ve had worse already

Trump clone in more ways than one
The night after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was elected in 2018, Russian businessman Andrey Muraviev texted Lev Parnas & Igor Fruman's congrats "on victory." Now Muraviev has been charged with illegally supplying cash Parnas & Fruman doled out to politicos

" a moderate centrist R or D would be nice but centrist can’t win the primaries in either party ,"
That is exactly right. And it's sad.
"we’re stuck with a Trump clone with black hair "
Come on. Desnatis isn't the horses azz that Trump is. He doesn't make 100 hateful tweets a day. He's the governor of one of the most well-run states in the country. Low taxes, yet still a healthy and robust economy, where huge numbers of Americans are choosing to move to. The population explosion there, has to be some kind of sign that he' doing something right.

Great guy
Now that the omicron wave is over, a couple of new analyses of state-by-state data both point to an inescapable conclusion: Living in states run by a Republican governor is dangerous to your health. My latest column:

i couldn’t read it, probably a good thing. title is “how does desantis sleep at night”, i’m sure it’s a fair and balanced criticism.
why are so many people
moving to FL, does the author speculate? it’s not only for weather, southern CA has nice weather and huge numbers of people aren’t moving there.

it why are so many enlightened and evolved new yorkers moving there?
you can’t win this. You aren’t holding any cards. HUGE numbers of people want to move there. There are reasons why people are choosing FL over all the other options.
Florid-uh, that’s a good one! but if trump said that, you’d be insulted. As always, it’s ok when you do it.

Because they’re old, want warmth, lower taxes and don’t care about schools or infrastructure because their grandchildren and businesses are where they came from.
Hey even Disney is “woke” now

“want warmth.”
nope. southern CA is warm, and they don’t go there.
“don’t care about schools.”
During covid, CT schools were closed much longer then FL’s were. you are conflating caring about schools, with always saying yes to teachers unions. not the same thing.
but public schools are better in CT. but with the tax savings, you can help pay for catholic school.

Trumpism sells? nice to see you admit it. Again, 60% of americans said they were better off after 4 years of trump, a record high.
show me a mature, composed republicans who will advocate for the same policies trump did, who can also be an adult? that’s someone who is formidable.
the capital riot wasn’t an insurrection unless you have evidence that a meaningful number of participants were consciously involved in a plot to overthrow the government . vast majority were stupid trespassers. sorry.
when current events are so dismal for you, that you cling to a protest/riot that was absolutely nothing compared to what liberals did in the summer of 2020, that tells
us even you know biden can’t run on his record.

Less than 1000 people stormed the Bastille to start the French Revolution.
A document found by federal prosecutors in the possession of a far-right leader contained a detailed plan to surveil and storm government buildings around the Capitol on Jan. 6 last year, people familiar with the document said on Monday.
The document, titled “1776 Returns,” was cited by prosecutors last week in charging the far-right leader, Enrique Tarrio, the former head of the Proud Boys extremist group, with conspiracy. The indictment of Mr. Tarrio described the document in general terms, but the people familiar with it added substantial new details about the scope and complexity of the plan it set out for directing an effort to occupy six House and Senate office buildings and the Supreme Court last Jan. 6.
But it was nothing…..

Your last paragraph is the tell.
No Trumplican is concerned about the future of America, only about themselves.
Just what do you think will happen if public schools become the second or third choice and the wealthy get to avoid them?
People move to Floriduh because they’re old, want warmth, lower taxes and don’t care about schools or infrastructure because their grandchildren and businesses are where they came from.

"Less than 1000 people stormed the Bastille to start the French Revolution."
Numbers don't make it an insurrection. Intent makes it an insurrection.
Almost everyone on January 6, was doing the same exact thing (albeit less destructively) that the liberals had been doing all summer, and no one cared.
It wasn't nothing. It was a riot by people who couldn't accept they didn't get what they wanted. It's what the left does constantly, which makes it strange that you don't recognize it.

A documentary film crew was present during the Jan. 5th meetup of the Proud Boys and other extremists including Oath Keepers’ founder Stewart Rhodes. The film crew recorded the whole thing — and captured them discussing the Capitol.
