I am still game!!
Just one thing, who is leading this party ???
I have not been out there for about 5 years and I did not to good then. And was fishing from memory from 3 years befor that. No GPS back then.
Anyone have #'s out there?? none spots?? The only spots I know for Cod is 10 to 20 miles out of Chatam.
I hear Marsfield is better?? But same problem, who will lead the bunch of nutty fisherman out there??

I have spider wire on mine as it is thin so there is less drag on the line in deep water. I have my rigs made of 50 # mono with two hooks for bait fishing and I have 80# leader with teasers and a big jig 15 to 21 oz for deep water jiging.
I also have a eletric reel for that deep water.
Glad to see your In !!

Well I like getting in at day break?? TThat ramp is an all tide ramp so there is not a problem of tides.
Maybe we can try for some Bass while waiting for the tide for Cod??
But I am blind in this area, have never fished there for anything but Cod abd even that is limted
Anyone that has fished this area, Are we bait fishing for the Cod or using Jigs?? I use to use Seaclams for bait in the High Pine area.
Just trying to get ready, 3 days left to get ready!!

High pine is out around the other side the Gernet. I am game for anytime. I guess we should meet at the ramp?? Its easy to get to and pleanty of room for parking.
I guess we will need sea clams and some Mackrel for bait.
50 # test for the cod and some sinkers to 10oz. Make sure you have pleanty!! You can lose them in the rocks.
Use your regular bass set up for basss.
Notaro, sorry my boat is full 4 people. Maybe you can hitch a ride with someone else.

Sorry to disappoint Notaro. I've got to be in Boston for the final phase of testing for a job I've been trying to land. This was short notice but getting a job has got to be #1 priority right now. It's almost in the bag.
I personally think you all should be heading out of Green Harbor, Marshfield or Weymouth. There are better Cod spots closer to shore in these areas. But, if you're heading out of Plymouth for convenience, you can still run to the Marshfield areas. Get a chart of that area and look for the wrecks off of Brant Rock. Probably 6 miles out. Maybe a little less. Also some good rocky areas around the "H" Buoy. Still too early in the season for High Pine Ledge off of Duxbury I think. As it is, if you want the "steakers" you still need to make a run out to Stellwagen.
Good luck, wish I could make it. I'll be making a bass run out later in the day when I get back. Weekend weather is shaping up real nice.

Alright, BigBo. that is no problem. And I just realized that I am going on a cod trip next weekend with FWW, BM, and Glocuester2 on Ave Maria Charters.
As for bassing, I am keep trying to catch a bass on my plugs. I had lost my atom green mack popper and 3 oz kastmaster w/ a green tube tail at the east end last weekend. I recently purchased a gibb 1 oz pencil popper in dark green mack color. When you say bassing, it pops my mind up. So how did u do with striper fishing on the boat lately?

Last trip out on the boat was Friday night into Saturday morning. Check my report in Current Reports forum titled "Last Night".
Good luck on the Cod trips.

Alright, if the guys have a space for me. If not, then no biggie. Anyway, thanks for the shore info. I will do some research. I hope I can go there, but if not, I can try in March and April for surfcasting cods and cold water fish. I already checked a map of south shore. Scituate looks like I need to drive a 4x4 on the beach.

No, I fished these areas out of my boat. The spots mentioned are not accessible from shore. No 4x4's allowed on Scituate beaches. Closest beach available for 4x4's is Duxbury.
