I just found out what a "HAB" event was.......

All this time, I thought it was when JHabs was turning wood...

HAB event.....Harmful Algae Bloom...a.k.a "RED TIDE"...

Harmful algal bloom events regularly threaten human health and marine mammals, contaminate local fish and shellfish, and depress coastal tourist and recreational industries. They can produce toxins and create large dense "blooms" of cells, such as the Florida red tide. Others can threaten human health even when they are not visible in the water, such as Pfiesteria piscicida, the organism that has been associated with fish kills and potential human health effects in Maryland and North Carolina waters.

Natural events, as well as human activities, appear to contribute to this increase. Storm runoff and the flow of coastal currents have helped HABs to spread along the New England coast and the coast of Florida. Excess nutrients in agriculture runoff have been linked to the growth of Pfiesteria and other HABs.

and your right, I've been bored.....

....I found these facts?....or FAQ. results about stripers on the "net"...

Q: Are there any other names for Striped Bass?
A: Yes, rock fish, linesider, old pajamas, sea bass, striper, cow ex...I've never heard em' called old pajamas...

Q: Why can t I catch fish in the surf?
A: Most likely, you have not spent enough time on the water practicing.......LOL...this answer was hysterical.....but true...

Q: Does color choice matter when fishing for stripers?
A: While it does make a difference, it is not as dramatic as in freshwater fishing.
The biggest reason is the way different colors reflect sunlight....very true....I think

Q: Is there a color that is best for stripers?
A: A pale green color has been proven to be the most visible under water....I've always felt that way myself...most of our waters have a green tint to them...so why wouldn't that be true..

Q: How old is a keeper striped bass? ( 28 inches )
A: A keeper bass ranges from about 5 to 6 years old depending on food intake....didn't really know that one...

Q: How much does an keeper bass ( 28 inches ) weigh?
A: A 28 inch bass weighs about 10 to 11 pounds...this is a good one...so many people think they're so much heavier than they really are...

Q: How far south do the bass go in the winter?
A: The bass travel as far south as the lower Carolinas.

Q: What is the difference between Striped Bass and Freshwater Bass?
A: They are very similar, one species evolved in brackish water,
then gradually turned into a saltwater fish.

Q: Can stripers really live in freshwater?
A: Yes, many large lakes in the south and plain states contain many ponds full of
freshwater stripers that feed off of bait fish just like in the ocean.

Q: What is the most favorable water temperature for stripers?
A: Stripers like a 60 to 65 degree water temperature.

Q: How many stripers are in the ocean?
A: Uuuuhhhh, a lot....this one, I had to post. What an answer huh?...LOL...
