January's Plugs now thru Etex stage

I clear coated a bunch of plugs this weekend and many of these will be used as trade bait @ Plugfest. Finally was getting decent clear coat results.. This is the 1st yr I have made the trolling plugs... can't wait to try them around some boulder fields at night

Nice looking batches, are the markings on the mackerel hand painted or stencil?

hand painted... I made a stencil with plastic from a detergent bottle and cut the slots with my dremel but have not been happy with the results so I painted them all by hand.... I kinda like the randomness of hand painted macks

I am so screwed for Plugfest.... spent the last five days busting dams. Have done nothing on the plug production front except for getting a MT2 chuck at Harbor's new store in Danvers yesterday. Need to order some supplies and get cracking....

Plugs look even better with the etex.

I'd love to get one of those red top swimmers if possible.

I'm epoxying on Wednesday, can't wait have about 3 dozen plugs ready.

And painting a bunch on Thursday and hopefully those will get epoxied on Sunday.

Plugfest is close!!!!

Nice work, and I agree with the great look of the randomness on the mackerel. I really like that small swimmer natural on top and white on the bottom. what kind of wood and how long is that one?
