How was this mounted in your boat and does the mounting hardware come with it? I assume transducers are still available?

Thanks

The Unit was mounted with the Garmin base. It was never left on the boat. The Fish finer box was mounted behind the dash board. It comes with all the mounting brackets, cables and wires, connected. All you would have to do is connect the power leads and a transducer and you wold be good to go

Yes the transducers are still available. I know West Marine carries them.

I read that the internal antenna is not the best option under a T-Top. What was your setup? Is there a connection for an external antenna?

I had the unit mounted in a compartment in my dashboard under my hardtop, and never had any issues. The internal antenna model does not have a BNC connector for an external .

It might. If it is like mine (182?) there are 4 screws holding the internal antenna assembly onto the back of the unit. Remove them and the whole assembly plugs into the antenna connector. The unit remains water tight with the internal antenna assembly removed. It would be easy to buy an external antenna to fit. About 60 bucks I think.

Have any of you checked out the Humminbird side imaging units? I got a 997c and have only used it but so far it is amazing.
