A local guy in MSBA taught me, just another addiction...I have only done a couple of dozen so far. It is only my first year I can say all of the rods I use (8) are ones I have wrapped. It really is a great feeling to catch on a rod you built for yourself..

Used hard and put away dirty....

The rod on the left side looks like it could get pulled out by a fish, or possible bounce out in rough water. Have you had any problems or do you lash them into yak?

Everything should be leashed imho, one roll over and you will wish you did... paddle leash rod leashes.. I can turn my yak upside down and shake it, the only thing that is dropping out is me lol

Used hard and put away dirty....

I have never talked to anyone who fished from a yak, what's it like when you have a good size fish on? do you struggle to keep from tipping over?

still by the firelight
and purple moonlight
I hear the rusted river's call

Bill, it's awesome. You get towed around on a little Nantucket sleighride! Never had the concern about tipping, more concerned about how far the fish would take me! Farthest I figure I got taken was almost two miles by a 47" horse! Better with rudder, especially if they want to take you into the rocks....
