More early 90s

the Pearl Jam thread got me thinking. the early 90s were a great time for music. I was playing in a ton of bands mostly hard rock and metal and suddenly a bunch of new worlds opened up. I hate the term "alternative" but I really fell into a new world of some awesome stuff.....
I never got into Nirvana, not sure why.
My favs include:

Fishbone
Chili Peppers
Pearl Jam

and LOVED these guys......wore out this cd

I took my user name from the band Fishbone. I was wearing a Fishbone t-shirt when I signed up for SB and took it as a sign. That was a great time for music if you liked something with an edge. PJ, Rage Against the Machine, Fugazi, etc...

I've always thought that Pauls Boutique was one of the most underrated albums of the 90's. It probably was a little too ahead of it's time. The Sounds of Science compilation is in my regular rotation.

Here's a funny video from Pauls Boutique.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

The 90's had a lot of good stuff for music.

I'll argue that Alice in Chains Unplugged is one of the best live recordings of all time. That album spends a lot of time in the CD player in the car.
The early 90's was a great time for music. The grunge scene was a major dose of much needed medicine to get rid of all the crap glamour rock that poisoned our airwaves! Hair bands suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice.. This was the last real exciting time in rock music. All my faves have been listed already.. Jane's, Peppers, Fishbone (Hell yeah!), Living Colour, STP, AIC.. Kick ass!

Nice AIC vid. To this day they have one of the most original vocal harmonies I've heard.

I saw Fishbone and LC at the living room in Providence back in 89. One of the best shows I've ever seen! "Truth and Soul" and "Vivid" changed my life.

I was there too, pretty sure. I can honeslty say that those bands/albums changed my life too. I got into jazz because of LC and never looked back. They used to play A Love Supreme by Coletrane before their first set. Did you ever hear/see a band called Smoked Shoulder?
That was my band and we played around Prov 1992-1994 or so. We were compared to Fishbone and LC as those were my biggest influences.

Also, you guys arent keeping me honest, cant forget these guys, had fun at there shows too

CHOLLY -- Woman with the big thighs
CHOLLY -- Lady with the hazel eyes
CHOLLY -- Cholly make me feel good
CHOLLY -- Like you know a ho should

I love you Cholly when you're chickling my wally
I love it baby when you shake your fat derriere
Cholly make me feel good -- Cholly

CHOLLY -- We can watch the sun rise
CHOLLY -- Let me touch your thig pies
GOLLY -- Really really big thighs
CHOLLY -- Cholly hit me in the eye-eye-a-eye-eye-a-a-eye-a-eye
OUCH!!!
Cholly make me feel good Cholly
Cholly make me feel good Cholly

I love ya Cholly with your big fat body
Oh oh golly Cholly you're just chubbly wubbly wobbly
You make me happy when you shake-ling your tub of taffy
You wiggly jiggly do the Fatso Fatty do the

It kind of seems like Alice in Chains never got the respect they deserved. RIP Layne Staley.
