Latest bright idea from Washington

So idiot is toying with the idea of charging a user tax on vehicles using highways and byways. Although the article mentioned that it could replace the current federal gas tax, we all know that if given any chance, they will include it along with the gas tax!
Whoever brought this proposal up should be beaten with a mace.

Our local illustrious leader, Deval Patrick had suggested this in 2009 in addition to our existing taqxes and tolls, and it was soundly defeated.
I can't see how a national plan can be any better or any more successful in passing.
If they were, in the infinite possibilities of the universe, ever able to pass such a tax, it would kill so many recreational and travel businesses because people wouldn't be able to afford the "travel tax" to get to that destination.

I mean, we pay a sales tax, an income tax, state tax, city and town taxes, excise tax, registration fees, luxury taxes (when we can afford luxuries), inheritence taxes, death taxes. I thought that SOME of these taxes were specifically earmarked for infrastructure repair and maintenance? Apparently when they create a "rainy-day fund" and call it the "state coffers" it really means "We do what we please with your tax money, and we're not responsible or accountable if we blow it on booze, hookers, vacations, personal luxuries and just wasteful spending and there's nothing you can do to stop us from continuing to do so with every penny of YOUR money!"

Head-Rolling time is fast approaching, and I want to be there with a front row seat like at a Gallagher show!

I screamed and shouted about Duval raising the sales tax 25% before he was reelected and not many listened. This system will break us all eventually, too many people are either s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g the public teat or just have no idea what they are doing and just look for the D following the name. I'm afraid it is only going to get worse.

If more people would post/bump maybe some people would see this and finally decide their vote matters. BUMP!!

Obama's National Mileage Tax is coming to a road near you after he is re-elected in 2012. They are holding off till after election to bring it to a vote. Hope you do not think that they are dumb enough to implement it now.

Lets face it, you have more electric cars coming on the road. Both state and federal gas tax dollars will be lost. They have plans to fund another bureaucratic agency with our tax dollars thru 2017.

The state and Feds are making windfall profits on the gas tax now and most people do not think about it. Lets take a year ago and say gas was 2.75 per gallon paid what ever percentage tax is on that amount and now gas is 3.90 per gallon. Price of gas has increased their tax revenue and they still cry we need more taxes on the people.

Vote Obama 2012!!!

As it has already been said, We don't have a revenue problem we have a SPENDING PROBLEM.....

End the greatest mistake of your lifetime by VOTING the spending problem back to Chicago.
