Ratings? are you kidding me? ratings? I just hope...

Decided to do a little research after finally getting my hands on some Pro-Pro Porter at Wormtown and some postings and replies on fb.

Pro-Pro Porter rates 3.4 to 4.2 with an average rating of 3.8 on Beer Advocate. This same won a silver metal at the Great American Beer Fest.

Castle Island Lager rates 2.3 to 4.2 with an average rating of 3.8 on Beer Advocate. This same won a silver metal at the Great American Beer Fest.

House Lager by Jack's Abby Brewing rates 2 to 5 with an average rating of 3.8 on Beer Advocate. This same won a bronze metal at the Great American Beer Fest.

and then there are the Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ales

Le Jus by Alarmist Brewing won gold and rates 3.8 to 5 with an average rating of 4.3 on Beer Advocate.

Fairy Nectar London Double Dry Hopped by Kros Strain Brewing Co won silver and rates 4 to 4.5 (nice grouping) with an average rating of 4.5 on Beer Advocate.

Foiken Haze by Eris Brewery and Cider House won bronze and rates 3.5 to 4.5 with an average rating of 4 on Beer Advocate.

Don't know if the following were entered or not (nothing really to win given the current popularity) but

King Julius rates 3.5 to 5 (lots of 5's) with an average rating of 4.7 on Beer Advocate.

King JJJuliusss (sp?) 2.25 (there's one in every crowd) to 5 (lots of 5's) with an average rating of 4.7 on Beer Advocate.

Heady rates 3 (this guy has issues) to 5 (lots of 5's) with an average rating of 4.7 on Beer Advocate.

seems like there is a bias to me, (1 to 0.5) unfortunately none of the above were rated by the Brothers that I could see on the website (they may have removed these it appears)

I'm just sayin'....

p.s. Brevity by Brewery Silvaticus won silver for American-Style Sour Ale, other than that MA seems to be the lager and porter State.

p.p.s. no winners from VT or RI or CT, and only Allagash White from ME.

Allagash White won bronze and scored 4.2 on BA, breaking from the "bias" that one. Wonder why?

The Ratings don't match up on a lot with some well rated beers completely underwhelming. You should create a Beer Consumer Reports, all you need is unlimited access to limited breweries and a hotel ; )

Test Subjects will work for free ; )
