Risk Takers

Anyone see Risk Takers on DiscoverHD the other night. It was on alligator trappers.

Basically, two guys (State employees) with fishing rods and Penn reels walk down to the edge of a pond or canal and cast a grappling-sized snag hook over an alligator; they then set the hook and reel it in. Those alligators put-up a good fight… only problem is landing one.

I saw that. Those guys were insane. Treble hook snagging 100lb+ alligators with spinning gear. Wasn't the approach I was expecting to see. I figured gun or big baited hooks. Then these two dudes stroll down to the shore with a couple of heavy spinning setups.
