FRESH STRAWBERRIES

Sitting here at lunch eating chilled strawberries from the garden, first of the season. Oh man, are they good!

I've been harvesting for a few weeks, but the wet may really put a damper on them...not a good crop shaping up

Yes, the rain did do a job on them, way behind. Its nice to finally get my taste. I'm letting the rabbits eat the bean plant hoping the don't bother the berries.

i had this pet rabbit once and my wife and i were sitting out in the patio after having some cocktails we opened up a bottle of strawberry
wine
...something we were trying for the very first time....
we each had a small glass and then went in the house to eat lobster.

the strawberry wine bottle was corked with a regular cork but it was a tiny bit loose...just enough so that rabbit sat there and licked the leaking bottle (tipped on it's side) til she drank the majority of the wine.....and it was gone... she was one drunk rabbit hopping all crooked and staggering around shakin her wobble head...

it was way too funny.....

i'm eating handfuls of berries...they taste better than store bought thats for sure!
