My Mom passed away today

After a 3+ yr fight with cancer, my Mom passed away this afternoon. Its just over 4 yrs ago I also lost my Dad. They were married for 44 years. My Mom was 65, always active, exericsed, ate right. The last 6 weeks or so we had been taking care of her until a few weeks ago she moved into a hospice facililty, the nurses and doctors could not believe how strong she was, even though she was ready to go, her body kept going for days. My mom was a wonderful woman, she lived the live of a surfcasters wife and always supported my dad, they had a magical marriage. My best memories are sitting in the parking lot of Race Point in our 1974 ford van, eating portugese bread for breakfast. We camped every summer and had the greatest times. After my Dad died, she devoted herself to my kids and was a wonderful grandmother. I am worn out from the last few weeks and glad my Mom died peacfully. She will be missed every day.
Remember to take time to be with people you love, it goes by way to fast. And be sure to get check ups, if my parent's cancer was caught early enough they may be around today.

Jimmy....it sounds as if you said it all. Your Mom sounds like she was everything anyone would ever want in a Mom.....and you were quite fortunate. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. As I always tell people....keep the great memories close to your heart and they will get you through the difficult time. Hoping your Mom has found peace.

I'm sorry for your loss Jimmy. Your Mother sounds a lot like my own, who I lost last Sept. It's tough but will pass. Remember her strength fondly, that helps

My sympathies Jim. My MIL and FIL both passed within 90 days of each other in 2006.
Take the time to be with your friends and family as life is too short and a one way street into the future to not do so.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Jimmy - I lost my mom in the very same way shortly after my Dad passed away

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, may God give you peace and comfort

Condolences to you and your family, Jim.

Thoughts and prayers to you all. As tough as things are right now, they'll get easier with time. The sadness will fade and the wonderful memories will take it's place to be cherished forever. It sounds like your mom was a wonderful woman who brought lots of joy to those around her and instilled a real sense of family in you. I'm sure she was very proud of raising such a fine son.

Whenever you feel up to getting out and wetting a line, or if you want to grab a beer, give me a call.

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss, my friend. I too lost mom, a few years back. When I'm out on the rocks at night, I think of her often. I truly miss my mom, as well. I know, from what you posted that she is home with our Father.
I will pray for you and your family in this time of sorrow. Be strong my friend, and God bless you.

Be encouraging, not discouraging
