Air Brushes
Ok I need to invest in a new brush. I currently use a crappy Paasche. I have little control with it other than to change the tips. I had a Talon which was not great either. It does not respond well and atomization is an issue with it.
What can I buy under 250 that will be A Responsive B Easy to control and C not a nightmare to clean.

I agree. I own a couple a bottom feed and a top feed. Really like them and easy to maintain. Never had an issue with either. Had to replace a couple of wear parts but nothing out of ordinary. I also own a Peak top feed, nice, useful, low price brush but not the same as an Iwata IMO. I just like the Iwata better, much better. To the point I have not used the Peak in years.

That is what I have heard basically. Just wondering if any one had any experience with some of the other stuff out there.
What series are you guys using? The eclipse? Or others

Some of the hot shot painters on SOL are claiming the Pasche Talon is the brush of choice over their Iwatas. I still use a badger but can't paint worth crap.

I like the Eclipse and the HP. I don't consider myself a very good painter but a paint sprayer and get by on good templates and plain paint jobs. If all I ever had to fish were white plugs I wouldn't be to unhappy.

Me too honestly. If all I owned was white and yellow I think I would be fine. Maybe a few Mack patterns. But I enjoy painting plugs so I might as well not get frustrated with the stuff I use to do it

Check out your local AC Moore stores, some carry the Iwata's and with one of there 50-60% off coupons you can get one for about $80.

I have had good luck purchasing from Dixie Art over the years. Used to be free shipping but I think they did away with that. Bear Air is good too but their shipping costs are very high and I practically live few towns over but get charged too much IMO so don't use them much.

FYI...Michaels stores have an online coupon on their website. 40% off any one item if anybody is in the market for an airbrush. Looks like Badgers are the only choice.

After all Ive read an heard on here about paint guns why use them. I use mostly rattle can an paint markers with a couple templates included.Really don't see aload of benefit what with havin to heat the plugs after painting an all the clean-up needed. I've done a little over 4000 plugs so far to date an don't see a marked improvement using one. I bought a pasche and it's more problematic than I care to deal with. I gave it to a friend of mine that does motorcycles. He loves it. we compare notes an he laughed when he saw what I was painting due to all the cleaning an other hoops involved with them. Ron

Ron, I hear you. I started that way and prefer to do rattles for myself. My reasoning for air brush "hell" is the public wants fashionable paintworks. That's been in voque over the years since this craze developed. Nice hobby but the fish don't care. The fumes are the main reason I don't bother too often with rattle cans, just a few for myself. Finding the right can nozzles is an enduring task but the results mimic air brush blends.I have seen your plugs at Plugfest and they look remarkable. The saga continues: shake or mix. Have fun everyone. Winter 's here. Time spent in the cave is solitary time well spent.

Badger is a workhorse...I use mine just about daily for my restoration work, I'm not kind to it, frequently let paint dry in it and in the cup, I have used the same one for years without any issues or failures....

Thanks guys wound up ordering a CS from Dixie art plus I ordered some parts for the talon to see If I could make that thing work right. Looking forward to shooting some paint with the Iwata

Jackbass, I also have a paasche and have a terrible time with it. I thought it was me but a friend who does alot of airbrush work told me to dump it.
