Posterior shoulder dislocation after going over on a Lazer outside Pomponneset inlet.

This one time in college, I was in pain so bad that I passed out on the bathroom floor without the help of alcohol.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.

back pain was no fun, but the worst for mme was bursitis with impingement and a floating bone chip in my left shoulder. the pain went from my neck down to my thumb and it felt like my arm was on fire. SS Hospital gave me flexeril, percocet and dilaudid but that wouldn't even take the edge off. My primary dr got me in to see a specialist (after about 2 weeks) and he refused to give me a shot saying that my mri was unavailable, I wanted to kick him in the nutz, I got my mri, xrays, and report and called the Baptist Hosp, where I got a cortizne shot and set up w/ therapy. This went on for about a month

Going over backwards while doing a wheelie on a dirtbike with no helmet on pavement. Crushed some bones in my face and now have some titanium in my cheak.

An honorable mention would be my college roomate who fell mountainbiking with clipless pedels and managed to tear his foot off so that it was only holding on by some skin. The first person to arrive on the scene passed out when they saw the carnage and the second person threw up. They were able to re-attach it but he walks with a limp.

Had just finished playing basketball game in college - intense game for spot in playoffs. We won. In locker room, stepped into shower and SNAP ...ruptured achilles tendon and out like a light for a second, then vomiting from the pain. Surgery, casts for 4 months and a full year for recovery...nasty.

Back around 1990 while i was fishing commercially I got hit in the face with a 1" steel rope, saw stars, birds and the lights almost went out. Ended up with broken nose and crushed some bones around my eye socket. Hurt more when they had to break my nose again to straighten it out That pain does not compare to the pain I went thru with the gall bladder, I had the stupid man syndrome for about 5 months, and when I was curled up on the floor in a ball in the batroom one night I figured it was time to go have it checked. The doctor was a real pro, and was upset when he had to make his cut to remove the bag of rocks larger. He did say it was a trophy.

Kidney stones are pretty bad. The spasms from the 2 herniated disks I have now are just as bad. The accident that broke my jaw and knocked 2 teeth out is not even worth mentioning compared to the back.

short version, tree limb, chainsaw ,”ladder”, limb fell, knocking ladder out from under me, when I got to the ground the chainsaw followed. Bounced the chainsaw blade off my knee cap. It had stopped running before contact but still cut through jeans, got sick to my stomach, Very short nap followed.

In 1984 sneezed and did the pinched nerve in the lower back thing. Still got a spot on the top of the foot with no feeling.

Same here except you forgot they send in some sweet young thing to put in the catheter tube that suddenly looks the size of a baseball bat and feels like it, where it doesn’t belong. She cradled me so tenderly and zip.... Seeing me holding the bed rail white knuckled she asked if it hurt. I whispered YES. So she pulled it out and repeated the whole thing again.... same results, it still hurt. She asked if it still hurt and I whimpered no. fool me once and I won’t fall for that one again. Got even though. shoulda seen the look on her face as that bed pan filled to the rim. she should have used a much bigger one.

Not sure I can top some of the ones already put up but....

1. Back pain - playing basketball came down flat footed (white guy that could jump) and compressed a disk. had to walk to the T and had trouble lifting my leg up to a curb. 1 week on the floor with flexeril and it only goes out once in a while now.

2. Helping my dad out when I was 10. Putting stone in an electric cement mixer, reached around with one hand and put the other where it was not supposed to be. Had two fingers stuck between the gears but that did not hurt. When they got the gears off and blood started to rush to my two crushed fingers, now that hurt.

3. Dropping a big pipe threader on my sneakered tow, hurt. Not releasing the blood for a couple of days and then having to have the doctor poke the nail with a hot needle, and then squeeze the tow. That hurt.

Good luck with the recovery BF.

Line drive in the face while pitching in little league, I'm lucky that it didn't do any permanant damage.

Red face

the first 5 days after getting blown off a jetty last Sept.

Dislcoated shoulder was the worst pain - especially awakening at night when i rolled. I can't drink nor take pain killers so i just had to deal with it.

I had warts on my hands for a long time, seen many a doctor and all kinds of treatment. The last thing I had done was getting zapped by laser, they increase the # of jewels each vist. The first vist is like someone snapping a thin rubber band over and over in small area around the warts. They had increased the jewels and at the end it felt like someone snapping a thick rubber band ...it hurt like ^%$# hell, I left that day with tears in my eyes and swore I would never set foot in that place again.

3 Way Tie

1. Had shingles in my scalp and forehead last fall. Percocet wouldn't even touch it. Nerve root pain is a different type of pain. A deep searing like an internal fire.
2. Stepped barefoot on a tie tack with a 1/2 inch stud left on the wood floor at the bottom of the stairs by my daughter. Went into the ball of my foot with all my weight on it as I stepped off a step. Must have hit the bone. Holy %$%$%$%$!
3. Got launched off over the handle bars on my mountain bike. Outside of my knee landed on a softball sized pointed rock with my weight plus a lot of force. Tried to stand up but it felt like my femur would snap if I put too much pressure on it. I expected it to just break in half. It didn't and I drove myself to the ER on the way home. Turns out I deeply bruised the tendons and bone on the outside of my knee. Needed PT to get it right.

1.) 13.5 pound scaffolding leveling jack with a 6 x 6 x 1/4 inch steel plate welded to the bottom dropped/thrown corner down on right big toe.Hurt dance= 20 minutes.
Hurt enough to see spots.
Bought steel toe boots at 6:00 PM sharp the same day.
2.) Piece of slag off an air/gas torch (Molten steel 3000°+ F) INSIDE above mentioned steel toe boot. Wearing liner socks under long underwear under wool socks under boots under jeans. Melted right through all the layers to leave a nice purple dot.
Hurt dance/rolling around on the floor trying to get boots off=about 10-12 minutes.
That is all. Lucky.

For anyone that hasn't had the pleasure of experienceing the "hurt dance".....................

Gotta be back pain for me. Psyatica, (sp) couldnt really walk and when i could my left leg would just stop workin and down i would go, then tryin to get up. Also, jacked the back earlier this year at work, blown disc w2as inflammed because i guess the scholiosis that i didnt know about showed up, my back looked like one of those curvy road signs. Couldnt stand upright, felt like i got left behind on the evolution thing.
And the whackin your nails with metal things sucks good too. I piece of steel landed on my big toe, only the corner hit the toe, crap, did the pain dance for a week at work. The doc burned a hole in the nail and it squirted blood pretty good, felt a hundred times better but that nail is the nastiest lookin thing around.

Everything is better on the rocks.

When I had my bladder catheter removed after a very serious car accident when I was 18, not one of my better moments. But holy crap tubes aren't supposed to go up there nor are they meant to be pulled out!

60 % of the time, it works every time.
