sticker sighting, Gloucester...

Up in GL today for work/apartment hunting, spotted a grey/tan pickup parked right near the memorial, up the street from my hotel. Rear passenger bumper.

I didn't have any time to surfcast... Was working up in Newburyport, and due to safety regulations with work I have to get a hotel after 12+ hours on the job. I just kinda explored the area a little bit... went up to Rockport, down to Magnolia, and tried to circumnavigate the traffic in downtown Gloucester. I know nothing about Cape Ann, or the north shore in general (Philly born and raised, then to RI, then to Cape Cod) so yesterday and today was just learning the lay of the land a little.

Looked at a few places in GL, Rockport, and Magnolia. Magnolia looks super fishy but too quiet for me otherwise. Rockport is nice, but once again seems pretty quiet. I looked at a place on E Main in GL that seems right up my alley, sent the landlord my reference info so we'll see what happens.

Nonetheless, once I get myself up there we'll have to meet up and take a few casts. That 30's around there somewhere! I still havent broken it myself yet either... biggest this year was 44" but only 28 lb

Making your way up the coast it seems. The further you go the shorter the season, end up in Maine and you may have to take up hunting.

Cape Ann is indeed a very fishy area, especially if you like to rock-hop and fish boulder fields. Good luck in your rental search and drop me a PM when you get settled and I'll show you a few "spots". (always feel like I am swearing when I type that).
