Ladies and Gentlemen....the $2,000 eelie is here!

My wife laughed this morning when I told her this thing cost me a mortgage payment, but I wasn't kidding....anyways here's the specs on my first completed project...just took it for a swim...

Spacing of hooks and weights per Numbskull's recommendations in another thread.

7.5 " douglas fir body.

Lefty 2 lip hi slot.

.265 belly weight.

Weight is 3.5 oz....if it was built out of pine it would be considerably lighter. The fir piece I used was on the heavy side.

Great looking plug Mike.

Sit tight, next up will be the $1,000 danny, then the $666 junior swimmer.

Swam very good. I would put it in the category of a bomber long a with regard to its depth (2-3') and action. Was going to try a pikie 3 lip, but the lefty 2 did the trick. Even with the relatively heavy overall weight(3.5 oz), it popped up to the surface like a cork when I paused the retrieve, so its quite bouyant for a thin, heavy plug.

Good stuff Mike. But the price usually doesn't get better as you always want another gizmo, tool, etc...

Impressive start, Mike. Very impressive. The thought and fishing knowledge that went into that plug stands right out. It will pay you back, soon enough.
