Boat names

Always laugh when I see my friend's J70 sailboat named Africa. It means; another effing raceboat I can't afford.....

Mine is R2D2 which is my initials; RR and hers; DD. How could we not use it?

I saw a center console the other day....”Filet-sea-o”. Took me a sec to see what he did there.

My boat is named after the previous owner’s mom. I’m superstitious about changing boat names so it stays. “Sadie”.

Exactly.….. and they are disappointed I am not, until they hear the derivation.

my dad bought an 18' wellcraft runabout brand new back in '89 100% against my mom's wishes...more than a few threats of divorce or worse were uttered before he came home with it...he named the boat Pushin' My Luck...

When I was a kid my Dad had knicknames for me and my sister, Called her Yakker, because she talked non-stop and he called me seagull, because I'd eat anything. named his boat "The Yakkin Seagull"

When he got his next boat he named it "Joni's Mink" for my mom.

Mine is named Dog Daze II. Second boat with the name. we use to take our dogs with us all the time until it just wasn't worth cleaning the dog hair for hours after every trip.

There was one at my marina, back when I had a boat, called "Pogy N Bass", I always liked that.

A co-worker, who is right-off-the-boat-Italian, has a boat named "Bona 4 Tuna".

Filet-Sea-O is brilliant. I wouldn't do it, but it's brilliant.

Also have the next and last boat named; Cool Change. Lyrics from a Little River Band song I always liked. Having it played when they spread my ashes at sea too....

I tried a couple names:

Sea Sharp (I work with software and only those of you who do the name will get that) - wife thought it was dumb

Full frontal: Wife rejected it

We’re still working our way through candidates

I’ll have to ask my dad. The original Squid Pro Quo was a 23’ Key West cc. We then downsized to an older 19’ cc but I can’t remember if he kept the name. We sold that boat after a year and then my dad picked up a green 16’ Bristol Skiff cc which he sold a couple years ago.

Well when I had a boat, it was named after the plastic hobby business I started Ledge Runner; FYI still have well over $4000 retail stock if anyone needs some. Still hoping to find the right person to buy the business, be perfect for the small tackle shop owner or charter guy who uses a lot of plastic. Sorry for the slight promotional moment.

Hahahaha, My wife just looked at me with the "no chance" stare as I was saying it out loud to try and get the reference. In that instance I got the joke, not so much anything else.

How about the Naut Guilty guy in Boston Harbor? That story was nuts.
