2 piece rod scratches on ferrule

Last month I got swamped by a wave and submerged my 2 piece lami xsra1205 in the wash. I just happened to notice the other day that sand or salt got into the ferrule and there are some scratches to the blank on the male section of the ferrule where it fits together. Should I be worried about the rod breaking in half because of this? I always rinse with fresh water after use and dry it completely. Anyone else run into this problem with a 2 piece rod?

It could be an issue. The problem being that where there are scratches on the male section , there are probably corresponding scratches inside the female section. Nothing you can do about it except make sure all the sand is out and keep it clean.
