I remember way back when...the Apple Mac ll's used to come w/ quantum HDD's that would get stuck. We'd be at the customer's site and we'd take out the hard drive and Smack it a couple of times....customers used to look at us like we were crazy.....spun right up when we put it back in though.

Then there was the IBM (now Hitachi) DeskStars. We called them the Death Stars as they were great at destroying DATA.
