Post norton anti virus

whats up with norton, using product key codes to register? my friend let me borrow his new norton disk and there was a key code for it. downloaded it and put in key code and says invalid key code.you have 18 days to register. ?
never had a key code for norton.

I think it's to stop people from borrowing their friends disk and installing it without paying - but I might be worng

Seriously, I know there is a decent freeware Anti-Virus software out there - like this maybe http://www.free-av.com/

Buy the Systemworks Pro by SYmantec for 2003 on ebay for 10 bux, good enough for a year.

AntiVir is a great program.I've used it for quite some time.

www.gri-soft for the free edition of AVG is freeware also.

keep in mind most freeware antivirus aren't as quickly updated and on top of things as companies like McAfee and Symantec.

Thats ok I bought the new 2004 version and I put in mine, daughters, wife and had to reformat my computer and did it for the 4th time and now it says that I have used up all my uses!!

And I just had to reformat my daughters computer and now she has no protection!!
