hey guys, some of you know I play in a cover band that does a lot of party rock type tunes, but I'm also gonna try to get out and do some solo acoustic cover gigs so I need some song ideas
So, what type of songs would you like to hear if you were kickin back with a couple of brews at a bar
I'm thinking stuff like:
U2
Tom Petty
John Mellencamp
acoustic Zepp stuff (maybe hey hey what can I do)
also some modern stuff too, like Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Daughtry....
thanks for the suggestions guys. don't know what baaars I'm gonna play at quite yet, gotta get the repetoire going first. but yeah, I"ll try some gloucester ones, salem ones and maybe even some marblehead ones (well, one!)
I'll take suggestions on that too
acoustic sabbath?? yeah, I think NIB would like that!
Zep-Tangerine
John Mellencamp-Paper & Fire
Steve Earle-Copperhead Road
U2-One
Staind-Whatever that big song was
Tull-Jack in the green
The Cars-Drive
Floyd-Pigs on the Wing
Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Anything by Henry Rollins
Sober - Tool.....or Anything Tool for that matter
Killing in the Name - Rage Against the Machine
Freak on a Leash - Korn
How about these for starters
"If you're arguing with an idiot, make sure he isn't doing the same thing."
Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Anything by Henry Rollins
Sober - Tool.....or Anything Tool for that matter
Killing in the Name - Rage Against the Machine
Freak on a Leash - Korn

I bet I could come up with an acoustic version of "I'm a Liar" by Rollins Band!
here's a you-tube allstar doing an acoustic "killing in the name"
and do you remember the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt" by NIN?

I used to play an acoustic version of bring it on home by led zep years ago. The rhythm guitar in the verse section, after it kicks in, sounds awesome on acoustic. I'd be happy to email your guitar player on how to play it.
For acoustic rock songs, look to the Foo. This is a great version of Everlong, but everything off the Skin and Bones cd is acoustic.
