Will Gronk play?

I say unless they chop off his foot above the ankle , Gronk plays in his first Superbowl and gets 2 touchdowns...minimum. Young guy , rookie year , Superbowl , availability of novocaine , he plays no matter what!

Question isn't will he play, it's whether he will be effective. If he loses a step coming off the line, it could raise issues if Brady needs to get the ball out quickly due to an effective Giants D-Line.

You are an old fart and out of shape! So am I so don't get pissed.......Neither of us will ever get paid $$$$$ to play a sport!

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

The high ankle sprain is not the problem.
Just like with what will be the case with Gronk pulled tendons are the problem.

This is important. Gronk is a young guy and can heal a lot faster than someone with a few years under their belt. He's also probably willing to play through a lot of pain.

I think there would have to be something very serious for him not to take the field. How long he stays in is another matter. Even if he's in there 1/2 time I think it will have a huge impact.

Safe to say you and Gronk aren't even in the same universe as far as body type. He's a world class athlete with the best medical team watching this. Given his personality he would have to have a compound fracture not to play. He'll be in the game but obviously not 100%. We have plenty of weapons to spread the ball around and my guess he'll still have a couple of big plays. He's a complete nut job and freak, they would have to shoot him with with a tranquilizer gun to keep him off the field is my guess. I know it's different sports but if Curt Schilling can get an ankle ligiment bascially stapled and and then shot up so he can't feel anything and pitch for 2 hours throwing 100 plus pitchesand get the win then this scenario is possible. Go Pats!!! Can't wait for the game!!

I hate to say this, but don't be surprised if he either doesn't play at all, or if he's only in as a decoy on a few snaps. The ankle is a lot worse than it looks.

He'll Play.....its just a sprain.

Jack Youngblood

One of the athletic feats for which Youngblood is best known, is that of playing the entire 1979 playoffs, including Super Bowl XIV, with a fractured left fibula.[23] He also played in the 1980 Pro Bowl with the injured leg, a week after the Super Bowl.[24] In the playoffs, Youngblood sacked Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach near the sideline in the waning moments of the divisional playoff game versus the Cowboys.[25] Playing with the fractured leg was noted by Sports Illustrated in their Top 10 list of athletes playing in pain.[26] For that and other achievements Jack was dubbed the “John Wayne of football” by Jim Hanifan and echoed by Hall of Fame coach John Madden.[27] The NFL Network series NFL Top 10 selected Youngblood's performance in the 1979 playoffs as top on its list of the “Gutsiest Performances″ of all-time.[28]

A 60% Gronk is still better then any of their LB's 1 on 1. And if not cash money Hernandez will be destroying the secondary, just because Roberto is on the field.

He came back in the Ravens game and didn't run another route as a receiver. What does that tell you? I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised if he's either in street clothes or plays very little and is ineffective.

And no, I'm not a Jets fan. I despise them.

I'm sure people have played through worse pain, but the bloody sock has to go down as one of the greatest HTFU moments in professional sports.

No question he will play! 22 years old, 6'6", two full weeks to heal, and then there is the medical wonder of drugs...He's ready to go. I expect he will be utilized as usual from the start, and that he will be effective. I do have reservations about him in the second half due to the longer than normal halftime, during which the ankle will cool and tighten, as well as the heat in the stadium, as he has not been able to work out for two weeks. So expect them to go to him early and often. Second half, who knows?

Must suck to be Tiquan Underwood today.
The fact that he was cut and speculation that Ocho will be playing adds to thinking Gronkowski either not playing or will be limited.
News reports say Gronk was at practice but funny no one has leaked film of him running
It would be pretty funny if Ocho makes a David Tyree type catch during a game winning drive.
