Always liked him. Saw him a few times live - signature move was a a running backflip on stage. Great guitarist.

Here's something I didn't know - he was a member of Crazy Horse - Neil Young's band. Just found that out on the American Masters episode about Neil Young which was very enlightening.

There was a great PBS show back in the 70s where he was the featured act maybe it was Soundstage. He played really well and did a lot of stuff with harmonics and dynamics that I thought was really cool.

Unrelated thought: PBS is always screaming for money and it seems the only time they focus on rock music is during their fund raising drives. I think they should go back and start showing some of the old stuff they aired, like Soundstage, that would would appeal to the baby boomers they are trying to get money from. Maybe contractually they are prohibited but it would seem like a no brainer to me.
