Anybody notice that Fuji is cheapening their guides.

Just got in a new shipment of Fuji guides and noticed that they are not gluing the rings in the same any longer. By this I mean that the guide rings use to be glued on both top and bottom for a better bond. The guides I just received are no longer done this way and just glued on the top of the ring only. The finish and looks are not as good as the guides of the past. The new guides in question are the BSVLG & BNLG series

Thumbs up

WOW - that is a bummer.

mikecc: why shouldn't you say something?! People hate the truth don't they. Why should you build rods using components that will come back to haunt you?! Time is money. Does Fuji expect the builders to eat the replacement cost for their lack of gluing on those guides you mentioned?

I love brutal honesty. People hate it. My wife tells me I am too harsh a lot of times.....lol. The truth CAN hurt.

Thanks for letting us know, mikecc !

Ooops - I notice the finish difference on the last batch of BNG guides I picked up from your store a few weeks ago. New ones seem like its a thin epoxy coating - thicker & shinier than before.

Hey Mike, make sure you dig into the bottom of the drawer for the guides on my new rod will ya

Perhaps they are trying to get more mass rod builders to use the Fuji and get the custom builders on the sic and alconites?

Mike,

Have you noticed this with the Alconite BMNA series or the SiC MNSG series?

Just curious.
