Chatham

I was invited out by a friend to fish Chatham, a place that I have "0" experience. So we headed out the night before to do a little recon, we spotted bait, whales and monster blues just outside the harbor. Couldn't believe the whale show that we were seeing!!!

The next morning we head out to Crab Ledge to see what we can do. There were no signs of bait, whales, or anything except shark fins.... They were not boat shy at all... At one point a Thresher shark was swimming by and we looked down and there was a great white coming to the boat!
We agreed that it was around 16' long.

I was thankful that we were in a high gunnel boat at that time... Needless to say I needed to change my underwear when we got back.....

Can't wait for the next trip.....

Is that because of the sharks or because it was Sunday?

Sounds like a cool day on the water regardless of whether you caught anything or not.

Shape is more of a basking shark. There are a few that have taken up residence there the past 3 weeks or so. One was swimming in the commercial bass fleet.

On my way back, passing thru crab ledge, we passed next to 3 very large basking sharks. I have some photos someplace....but can't find them but they were damn big. The large triangular dorsal fin is really impressive.
