SKEET

Well just got back from taken the boys skeet. Good day as it hit 47degress, sunny. A lite, left to right took some birds up and down [need good excuse] I hit at the most 18 of 50 [donebetter] and the boys 10 of 50 each. But it was good for the cabin fever. And one had never shot a gun... Hit his first bird on the first shot, kinder takes the butter flys away, but was noticable shaking shooting a gun for the first time! 20 gag. Said they come back in a few weeks to try trap.
Maybe wait till more seasonable day 60 degress+

Nebe is it buzy there? Brookheaven has a skeet and trap leagues going on. They shoot Sundays every other week, one this wk and the other next , it gose till June. And they said 60% of new shotters are female. I did take notice there was alot of female taken hunter saftey coarse this year.
And is trap easy`er or harder in your opinion?
I alway been told skeet was easy compared to trap, but directed to go skeet for practice, before pheasant and duck hunting.

Wasnt that busy...walked the whole course and saw 2 people- Im really not an expert when it comes to anything to do with guns... never hunted before, but the way i see it is this- Trap the clays always go away from you at a given speed.
Skeet- you have clays that fly at you away from you and crossing in both directions - thats harder than trap...

What i was doing was sporting clays- its like golf with guns, as you walk a course and each shooting stand has clays coming out from all different angles. Its really hard. I hit less than half

Thanks! sounds like fun, "the way you guys are shooting", 3d archery shoots are like that, walk trails and in a time frame as well.

Shoot half, don`t let anybody fool you! The typically duck hunter shoots 11 of 25, in skeet. But online no one ever miss`s, just like some guys only catch 50# strp bass
Been reading up on shooting, skeet diff best for duck hunting practice. Duck guides say, typical miss`s are left to right, 2nd right to left. Trap shooter rush there shots and they tend to shoot behind! But over all most guides say "good shooter have the most patience". And taken your time will up your hits. In water fowl they said pick a bird and count 2 /1000 be for you shoot.

Skeet is an easier game than trap. It takes a while but you learn where the skeet targets are going to be. Once you have that picture you can almost spot shoot the targets. Trap, you don't know where the target is going. You could get a hard right, a hard left, a strait away or anywhere in between. There is always that moment of finding the target first, then tracking and shooting your target. Sporting is the best game or I should say my favorite. If you are a hunter, go out and shoot some sporting clays and you will improve your game.

I belong to Independent Sportsmens Club in Foxboro, We have skeet, trap, sporting clays and 5 stand. Shooting starts at noon, Sat and Sun. I think they charge 6$ a round. 5 stand has every shot you can imagine...rabbits to overheads from a tower and multiples too. Its a blast. I think that's a bit more money per round, which is 30 shots

Nope, can't say that I have. The fellas I know that used to shoot there tell me it was incredible. The perfect background. If i was to guess I have shot more skeet than trap! But really like sporting and five stand. We have all the games at the club I belong to.
