Thumbs down Helmut Chin Straps

What's the deal with NOT using all the snaps that are on the chin straps that the football players doing now-a days ? Is this some new idiotic fad such as wearing baseball caps on backwards,or ........?

I don't think you are dealing with the cream of the crop when it comes to brain power. A couple more bumps on the head won't hurt them to much.

They get penalized if they take off their helmet in celebration. This way its easy for it to be knocked off "during play" so they get face time.

I have been seeing a lot more helmets coming off this way in the past couple of years (especially in college ball).

Go Bears!

Brady always has the same strap unconnected. I agree that there are a lot of dumb-asses in the league, but there may be something to how it feels.

Last year when i played id keep one unstrapped because it was more confortable. Having it super tight gets really annoying, and since theres 2 on each side undoing one takes the pressuer off your jaw. Also with it really tight any facial hair on your chin gets itchy and irratated so having it loose makes it better. Lastly they get really sweaty and gross, havin it loose lets the moisture out.

So thats why some of us leave it unstrapped.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
