Ice Cream Grumpage

Went to the store today for our weekly shopping and was dismayed when I got to the ice cream section. Hadn't had any Edy's chocolate lately.... I was infuriated to find that they have shrunk the package again. First it went from 1/2 gallon to 1.75 quarts, and now it is 1.5 quarts. And guess what, the price went up 20 cents. I guess I am lucky. The Hannaford I get it at usually had it for 2.99, where I have seen it at other stores for 4.49 and as high as 5.29. I would hope the stores selling it for 4 and 5 dollars wont raise it with the new size container. I think breyers also did it so the others will probably soon follow. Another shrinkage that bothered me, was when yogurt went from 8 to 6 ozs. Especially since those were single servings and now you can only eat 6 oz at at time.

LOL. I love Ice Cream. Think I will go to Dairy Queen right now. My daughter says thanks for motivating me.

I have always been a dairy queen fan. I had a cheesequake blizzard recently. My favorite is a banana split blizzard made with chocolate ice cream. It isn't on the menu at the one I go to, but they know how to make it. Have lots of good memories of going to dairy queen when I was a kid.

I find edy's has the most "chocolately" tast of any of the store ice creams. I really like dark rich chocolate flavor and to me they have the most chocolate in a non premium (16-18) fat gram type.

The best I have had is toscanini's cocoa pudding. I get it at whole foods. Emack and Bolios makes some really good rich flavors too. There is one I go to occasionally in the summer near where I work in Boston.
