barstools.....

do you think they should have backs or no backs? They are going around my new kitchen island.

Depends...

Ours have no backs, which helps in a tight space, plus the little one can't flip them over. They weigh a ton whatever kind of wood they're made from. Some cheap tropical hardwood probably.

If you're going to have older adults sitting and such, backs might help.
